Blue Hooped Moose I think we'll go down, in nail-biting fashion.

I think we'll finish bottom; relegated long before the season ends. Can I just point out to those who think we'll stay up......please check the home wins column in the league table.

How the fcuk has it come to this? Seriously?

What a joke.

I think we will stay up, the squad we have with one or two additions has enough.

I think we'll stay up.

Would be useful if Thorvaldsson turns out to be better than a couple of the carthorses currently not scoring goals for us.

Hoop Blah Realistically I think it's too early to say with any real confidence.

6 weeks ago I'd have said we'll stay up. Now I'd probably say we have a 60% chance of going down but that 40% isn't unachievable by any means.

Plenty of twist and turns to come, but it's not looking great, and I'm not sure we've done the most we could (yet) to give ourselves the best chance of staying up. It feels a lot more like a relegation season now than anything else though.

so is that a yes or a no?

It's a don't know, can't know yet!

It's certainly within our capability to stay up, but I'm not sure we will. Any definite yes or no at the moment is just guess work, but I think it's currently more likely we'll go down than stay up.

Is that non-commital enough for you?

Corky341 I'm sure Mr Mc has seen this and has addressed the shortfall with the signing of Thor (to replace GR (I hope) .

GR? Are you refering to our top scoring striker?

Great call

IMHO, it all hinges on Thorvaldsson.

I think the keeper, back four and midfield are good enough to survive but I just don't see the forward choices of Church, Raziak and Long scoring enough to keep us safe. If Thorvaldsson is good enough to command a starting place, i think we'll survive, if not, we won't.

I feel more optimistic than I did at the start of the year though.

readingbedding Yes.

With Rodgers I didn't know if the players were good enough.
With McDermott I now know that they are.

spot on :D

Yeah, me too. We'll still need a slice of good fortune in putting the right run(s) together at the right times, and some sustained determined motivation right down to the wire ... but it is visible that we CAN do it.

So as a supporter - yes. (If I were a betting man, or a reverse psychologist as someone else suggested, I would probably have said no - but I'm not so I didn't.)

UUURRRrrrzzz!!!

I have seen a few relegation seasons and it just stinks of 97/98 again, even the good cup run. Nobody is too good to go down and I really do think that we are just not good enough. The club has been butt-fcuked from the inside out.

Relegation.

Personally, I think we'll stay up, semi-comfortably too, however, if worst case scenario occurs and we go down I'll still be here next season still.

good, well-thought out answer though that is, please say yes or no.

We'll see who was right. I voted "no" ftr (my opening post was not clear enough apparently)

I'll vote after tonights game. If there we get a result and/or play well then there's hope. Otherwise the cup run is just a distraction.

I must say that we'd be certainities if Rogers was still here.

I don't think we will manage it, unless someone or a couple go into administration. I was very worried in early September, as Woodcote will vouch for, I think we bought all players that BR knew, and they were not the quality required, just journeymen. And now we are stuck with the wrong spread about the squad.

However I am optimistic about the longer term and believe we should be able to bounce back quickly.

what are the odds on Reading to finish top 10 anyone? Despite thinking we will go down i do think it will go one way or the other, either go down with aplomb, or rape the division for the rest of the season.

The optimists among us are aware of the shite home form! We've just seen enough to suggest that this squad is good enough to turn things round! I think we'll be safe with 2 or 3 games to spare.
