brendywendy hes just getting back to full fitness, and getting game time, and surprise surprise - he starts banging them in.
his touch looks to have improved somewhat, hes still missing with half his chances, but looks much improved from when he played under rodgers IMO

keep it up shanus o'long

Two goals that would have required a miracle to miss is hardly banging them in Brendy. He's still missed a hatfull of good chances recently.

He played the best I've seen him on the whole against Barnsley and he was still pretty ineffectual when it comes down to it.

Even including his bad run of form this season, last season and this Shane gets a goal every "2.6 games"
(that's treating starts as 90 minutes (usually they are less) and sub appearances as an average of fifteen minutes.

Gylfi is having a hot streak and he is 1 goal every 2.5 games, almost the same.

We know Long didn't suit Rodgers' formations. We know he was injured. He looked overweight and unhappy.

He has power and strength and has always approached a goal every other game

Last season he score 1 goal every 2.15 "games" (as above)

He looks fit and powerful and as happy as I've seen him for a 12-month

I think he should now get an extended run and if he fails, fine (but he won't)

He does a lot more work than Rasiak in midfield and chasing back in defence,
is far less predictable than Rasiak, and still has room to improve whereas Rasiak doesn't.

I would really like to see Thor & Long starting together for half a dozen games

Why do I know that's going to be a pile of steaming bullshit without having to click on "Display this post"?

papereyes Oh come on, you have to understand I share a deep affinity for a chubby bloke that works hard but really can't finish.

:D

Obviously I overstate my case for comedy effect, but I really don't rate Long. He's scored 18 goals for Reading EVER. That's 114 appearances over 4 years. 18 goals.

Says it all.

Half of Long's appearances have been for 2-10 minutes

If you total his minutes on the pitch he's better than a goal every 225 minutes

Shane would do it himself, but he's a bit too slow at typing
