Add to that his first touch is so poor that when put under pressure he gives the ball away too easily - that was the difference in the game vs Huddersfield when Kuhl came on that he could receive the ball and find a pass even under pressure.

I think Akpan can be ok on his day & can do a job. That midfield today is far too powderpuff & needs more strength. FTR I think Akpan holds the ball up reasonably well too.

Akpan is also terrible at protecting the defence.

Did a decent enough job against Huddersfield with him & Kuhl in the middle. Utterly stupid not to pick him I think.
