Hound Yeah it’s too early to say on some. None have been an unqualified success yet. Everyone (including me tbf) said Williams is a good signing but he’s been injured more than he’s played, he’s 33. With our recent history on ‘experienced’ CBs he might not play another 5 games

Others have time to improve and will do I’m sure. I don’t think Burns has been awful tbh, done an ok job overall

what sort of gets me is that we are - sensibly - recognise that it all takes time. Our youth players need time and minutes to get better. Our new signings need time.

And yet when push comes to shove, nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Well not sure that’s entirely true. We’ll give the perm players time but loans? If theyre blocking kids coming through….?

I don't think any of the loans we have this season, bar maybe Jacob, are blocking any kids coming through right now. Maybe Patton or Evans will come good but ... that might take time.

Is it a classic lawyer tactic Brogue?!!?

What’s funny? Of course that’s what lawyers do. they look to discredit stories by changing the narrative. Moving the focus to other people.

Righto.

You could say that about anyone tbf.

So you don’t think it’s odd that couhig has it in for Dellor.

There's a few lines in the Couhig interview I really like. The bit about it being harder because he liked Noel Hunt came across really well (imo).

Oh and he does not like Dellor does he.

Well after his incredibly petulant and immature article when Hunt got sacked I would have said Couhig is well within his rights to think Dellor is a cnut.

This pre dates hunt getting sacked. I couldn’t give a fcuk whether he likes dellor or not. I’m not a fan of dellor either tbh. I’m not sticking up for him. Just pointing out that couhig has decided to go after him rather than Howe. If he wanted to discredit the stories you’d go after Howe not the local journo just doing his job.

I liked the Couhig interview a lot; in general I'm supportive.

But his thin-skinned vendetta against Dellor is a bit off. If he thinks that's being treated harshly by the press, he would be mortified by how the owners in Spain or Italy get treated.

And back to recruitment. We'll probably only know if they got the wrong players in or if the players were being badly coached and asked to play the wrong tactics after Richardson has had ten games or so in charge.

I wasn’t suggesting you did or didn’t.

I was commenting on the video that was shared. And that was post Hunt sacking. Post Dellors embarrassing tantrum. Hence my comments.

What Dellor has said previously whilst I was aware he’s been critical im not up to speed on specifics.

Although Couhig did call out Howe (I’m assuming) on briefing against the new owners.

Howe seems to have benefited from the Dai regime. I guess there’s always money to be made.

Good interivew (irrespective of your view on him/his throughts) we are very fortunate that he fronts up like this

I like his level of detail and hardnose firm but fair sort of mentatlity - habours grudges maybe, so what, don't we all to a degree

The point is club comms are through the stratosphere since he showed up

Well done Rob

The irony.

I think we’ll see quite a lot of movement early in the transfer window anyway in both directions

If Hunt is banging on about 3-4 more players needed which he wasn’t supported on I don’t think his helping himself mind you. The numbers were plenty sufficient just the profiles, performances and injuries of those players

I do feel more and more this was too big a job for Hunt at this point in his career. Again understandable. Last year it was simply get the best out of what we had which he did pretty well

You take everything with a pinch of salt but from the interview, Couhig seems to making it clear that there were a number of deals that were close that fell through, not because of the financials but because the player wanted a different challenge etc and his comments at that end were very much - Leam will get what he needs.

So yes, I think the club will be busy now looking to get deals agreed for players to arrive as close to New Year as possible - of course the nature of transfer windows means there will be a lot of business done right at the end of the month too.

The Couhig-Dellor thing goes back to last year when Dellor was unquestioningly parroting everything Dai said in the press and effectively briefed against Couhig, particularly around the whole Bearwood thing.

At the time, Couhig said "The truth will out eventually" and the truth has largely vindicated Couhig's version of events.

He doesn't trust Dellor and I'm not remotely surprised. Dellor hasn't exactly covered himself in glory over that past 18 months.

Yet in other interviews he has stated that deals fell through due to players wanting more money after seeing the training ground. So some deals did fall through due to financial reasons.

Did Couhig reach out to give his side of the story? If he did, and the request was ignored, then fair enough for being mad. If he didn't then he could've reached out to Dellor to give his version of events. He found his way to Bournemuff4evas youtube channel easily enough.

You could ask the same question of Dellor. Did he reach out to Couhig? As a journalist, that's his job.

As an aside, I'd also say Couhig's personal wealth is irrelevant. He's always talked from day one about bringing other investors on board. I'd also say that there's a sub section of supporters who have been anti Couhig ever since the proposed sale of Bearwood was proposed. Dellor was very much presenting Couhig as the villain of the piece in that whole situation.

It's also ironic that someone is defending the honesty and integrity of Howe considering what he got banned for last year.

Has Couhig got everything right, far from it but I've seen nothing so far to suggest he's not acting in good faith.

One deal wasn't it? A player who'd agreed a deal then upped it later?

You think it's wrong not to be held to ransom on a deal? That's a sort of player you'd want at the club?

Not saying it was him, but had a check on how Bowler is doing at Blackpool and his stats were extremely unimpressive

May have dodged a bullet there

Very interesting. Do feel that RC wanted to change manager when he took over but, because NH did so well last season, didn't feel he could. He then probably didn't give him as much backroom support as he could have (or NH didn't ask for it?) resulting in NH not doing as well this season and resulting in a change of manager now. Just my view of the situation....
