blythspartan Brogue the annoying thing to this all is we are not under any embargos or sanctions from the EFL, apart from not publishing our accounts. if we publish the accounts we can sign players. just publish the accounts FFS. we could bring in loans where we pay no wages, or pick up someone who could be looking to get their contract terminated for free. Grant Hanley for example, signed for Birmingham for free a couple of weeks ago as Norwich just released him from his contract 6 months early. Not saying we could get a player like Hanley, but there must be other reasons players that clubs will be willing to do the same sort of thing. just release the accounts you pcunts!!
I might be wrong, but we’re we not under an embargo before the accounts situation? Pretty sure we couldn’t sign anyone while Dai remained the owner.
We're under two different embargos.
1) we can't make any signings except to bring the squad up to 23 players with a professional appearance (we have 30 odd) for not filing our accounts, I think.
2) we can't pay transfer fees or compensation fees of any type because we accumulated a lot of late payment with HMRC. That expires end of this summer, so the next window we can pay a fee in is January 26, I believe.
But yes, if we submitted our accounts, I think we could sign frees.
Of course, if we submitted our accounts it seems we'd have to either go into administration/liquidation by declaring ourselves not a going concern (because we clearly aren't one), or the Directors would be committing fraud. Maybe, is what I've gathered from others.
