Royal_jimmy Honestly this is the lowest I've ever felt as a fan of this club. It really does take it's toll on your mental health. Part of me wants protests to escalate to show how angry we are but it probably won't do any good if not make things even worse.

Lowest for me was the training ground bid acceptance from Wycombe. I'm now just kind of numb to it all!

To be fair that was probably equal with how I feel now. AKA can't feel any worse.

windermereROYAL Anybody got a list of OOC players this summer?

Not one of them in their right mind will put pen to paper on a new one if this whole sorry mess isn`t resolved by then.

I can see the remainder slapping in transfer requests too.

The future looks bright doesn`t it.

All of them except Smith, Elliott, Savage, Wing, Knibbs and Abrefa I think.

Depends a bit - academy players know they’ll get a chance. Vickers, Abbey, Harris have barely got a kick since they’ve gone. They’d have been regulars this year for us. Nobody would have even heard of Garcia and now he may be off to Soton

Feels like this summer we're really on the brink without a takeover. At the end of last season there was optimism it would happen and Selles and the squad hung around to try and build something.

Nobody has any faith any more. We need a pleasant surprise in the next 6 months, otherwise could the last person to leave turn off the lights.

Hope STAR have some contingency plans in place for a Phoenix Club for next season at this rate. I assume they're responsible for such undertakings.

the annoying thing to this all is we are not under any embargos or sanctions from the EFL, apart from not publishing our accounts. if we publish the accounts we can sign players. just publish the accounts FFS. we could bring in loans where we pay no wages, or pick up someone who could be looking to get their contract terminated for free. Grant Hanley for example, signed for Birmingham for free a couple of weeks ago as Norwich just released him from his contract 6 months early. Not saying we could get a player like Hanley, but there must be other players that clubs will be willing to do the same sort of thing. just release the accounts you pcunts!!

I might be wrong, but we’re we not under an embargo before the accounts situation? Pretty sure we couldn’t sign anyone while Dai remained the owner.

i also might be wrong  but i thought we were not allowed to sign a player for a transfer fee up until this window? but we should be ok to from now on. but we were always allowed to sign free agents and loans without a fee

We're under two different embargos.

1) we can't make any signings except to bring the squad up to 23 players with a professional appearance (we have 30 odd) for not filing our accounts, I think.

2) we can't pay transfer fees or compensation fees of any type because we accumulated a lot of late payment with HMRC. That expires end of this summer, so the next window we can pay a fee in is January 26, I believe.

But yes, if we submitted our accounts, I think we could sign frees.

Of course, if we submitted our accounts it seems we'd have to either go into administration/liquidation by declaring ourselves not a going concern (because we clearly aren't one), or the Directors would be committing fraud. Maybe, is what I've gathered from others.

Given this is the football industry and a great many clubs are in a parlous state I find that hard to believe. What do other badly struggling businesses do that are in the process of being sold? If the club is sold and ownership approved it’s just as much a going concern as any other club.

Other clubs have owners offsetting losses with loans and converting debt to shares or even writing off debt.

Thanks for clarifying.

I had it in my head that we couldn’t sign players last summer (free agents/out of contract players until we got new owners and we were subsequently placed under an embargo due to the accounts not being submitted, but think that was made official in the autumn.

It's so complicated that might not be perfectly correct, whether the reasons or timescales are spot on, but I'm pretty confident about the two aspects.

Can anyone explain why we have not been struck off of Companies House as the accounts are so overdue.
I thought the limit was 3 months?

From the Gov.UK Website:

Not filing your accounts or confirmation statements is a criminal offence. Directors or LLP designated members could be personally fined for this in the criminal courts.

Failing to pay your late filing penalty can result in enforcement proceedings. Any criminal proceedings for not filing confirmation statements or accounts is separate from (and in addition to) any late filing penalties issued by Companies House against the company.

You could get a financial penalty if you do not file your confirmation statement on time. The registrar could also take steps to strike your company off the register.

Phoenix club needs someone who really wants to make it work.

I don't know if you've followed Bury, but they ended up with two phoenix clubs, who didn't really speak to each other.

EDIT - one lot owned the club, the other lot owned the ground, I think its all resolved now.

You'd hope (lol) STAR and SBWD would cooperate and lead on it if necessary.
