Snowflake Royal Dellor's not exactly reliable, so still firmly believe it when I see it.

I am sure Tim Dellor wouldn't have announced it on the radio if it is not true. Couhig will sue him/the BBC if it is all false. Can anyone find out the court cases due to be heard on the 21st. March?

Ian has hitched his wagon to Couhig being a benevolent saviour who can do very little wrong and isn't letting go.

Can't blame him for siding with Couhig over Dai, just think he's a bit naive to Couhig's intentions

I aint the one talking about Couhig, some of us moved on.

As much as I’d like billionaires to wave breaches of agreements and sums of money away out of kindness towards people they have never met, that’s probably not the sort of behaviour that made them billionaires.

So - what happens on 21st March if the club are successful? Is it as straightforward as the club/Dai being able transfer the assets to Platek's holding companies straightaway and conclude the sale? Assume Couhig could appeal which given his actions to date seems likely??

This could then become protracted which would be very bad news with the number of players out of contract.

Doesn’t a judge have to give the grounds under which an appeal would be allowed to be heard as part of his final ruling?

We don`t even know if a judgement will be made on the same day unless the judge has heard both sides of the argument already.

Extended-Phenotype Link?

Only because I find it interesting how exactly the court case has any impact on the deal. It’s not like there is even a remote possibility that the court is going to award Reading FC to Rob Couhig, so what difference does it make?

If there IS a holdup, surely its Dai’s choice not anyone else’s.
The buyer will either be buying a club that owes Rob Couhig millions in damages or a club which does not. That will affect the price they are prepared to buy the club for by millions.

However, I can't see why there isn't an agreed price of £xM less any damages which may be awarded to Rob Couhig... except perhaps that would rely in the extent of the possible damages being known

Is the suit not against Dai and the holding company, which if the sale goes through, no longer has anything to do with the club. So why would the suit go with the club, rather than stay with Dai and the holding company?

If the holding company owns the stadium company, the training ground company and the football club company it would make sense to just sell the holding company to the new buyer but yeah, probably could get around that by selling the 3 companies individually to a new holding company.

My understanding, for what it’s worth, is that it’s not the suit between Couhig and Dai/his holding company that’s the issue as such, it’s Couhig’s moves in putting injunctions on the club being able to transfer assets to Platek’s companies that’s the problem and that’s the case that’s being heard on Friday next week. If the club win and there is no grounds for appeal, then that’s it - hello to a normal football club again!! RC will then still be fighting his claim for loss of potential profits with Dai and his holding company (god knows how you can prove a potential profits with the club in the mess it is). Anyhow, in the end, in looks like this stupid squabbling between the pair of them could be what finally sends the club to the wall.

If you want to protest, protest against Couhig, not Dai. Unlike more protests against Dai, it might actually do some good.

Couhig's court case is entirely spurious. He hasn't lost money by not buying the club; it runs at a loss, it's saved him money. Unless the money he's "lost" is the revenue he thinks he could have got by gutting the club of its assets. Either way, for now, he's far more of a threat to the future of the club than Dai is.

If Couhig can be convinced he's not welcome, he may give up.

(Incidentally, when he relinquished buying Bearwood, I don't think it was the fan's protest, it was the planning restrictions in place. But it seemed to hurt him. If SBWD read this - a loud protest tonight and Saturday might be of real benefit to saving the club).
