I have nightmares of seeing Dai in the royal box at the play-off final, wouldn`t it be ironic if he chose to keep the club if we got promoted.

LUX I’d buy RFC, get my image on every seat and wall of the newly-named Lux Arena, buy the whole Réal Madrid squad and have Taylor Swift perform every half time. On stage with Coldplay.

The "badly run club" narrative could come under strain if we get promoted and subsequently do well...

I think 6 years trumps an unlikely PO win against adversity.

Not that it'll come up.

Are any Hobnobbers planning on attending the court case this Friday?

Would like to but I heard there’s only six places in the public gallery and that they’re usually given to reporters etc. No idea how accurate that is or if I misunderstood.

Any idea where it is, and what time? I’ve been googling but struggling to find anything.

This might be worth a listen -

It backs up the 6 allowed in the public gallery and says the hearing takes place here

I wonder if this Couhig thing helps us really. Of all the theories why Dai hasn't sold, the mose feasible for me has always been that he needs to feel like he has "won" in negotiations. Now he has a clear adversary, perhaps the chance to "win" against Couhig is a motivation to negotiate in better faith with other parties.

I just hope that the judge - I presume it's a judge presiding over this case, I am not au fait with these kind of proceedings - is able to come to a definite conclusion (in our favour obviously) with no recourse for an appeal by Couhig, so we can close this down and then Platek can complete the deal quick sharp and we can all move on.

Yup, it'll be a commercial court judge, and they're usually very clued up about whats put in front of them. Have had some experience (as a witness for my employer) in the commercial courts , and judgements from my experience are pretty quick.

I can only imagine Couhigs filed defence @ refusing to release the liens is tied into his claim & courtw case for loss of profit in his failed attempt to purchase the club. A spurious defence me thinks.

The parties involved are : -
Claimants
Prestige Fortune Asia Limited ( who are one of Dais' entities who bought the ground a few years back)
RFC Bearwood Limited
&
Defendant
Redwood Holdings 1 Limited

Dai kicked this all off in January , so claim, defence & counterclaim, and then responses to that have been with the court for a good few weeks.

Its a big week.

Friday's hearing will be conducted remotely on Teams, details of which will be available after 2pm on Thursday.

Not sure if this means we can all listen in?

What I understand is that Couhig has little chance of succeeding BUT remember this is Dai Yongge we are talking about and Couhig is a lawyer by trade. Hopefully what will happen is that Couhig will walk away but it will have put enough pressure on Dai to do something fast to get away from the club.

It could be a great week or another sh*t show of a week. Surely, surely the club are due some luck and what this will do is it will get us away from Rob who I am sure now wouldn't have been a good chairman but also signal the end of Dai.

The club cannot be underprepared for this can they...

I appreciate it's ultimately an action brought by the club but I really don't see what Couhig has to gain from all of this. His original claim seems spurious at best and if his end game is to push through a sale to him, if I was Dai, Couhig would be the last person I'd sell to.

They might both come to a settlement on the steps of the court on Friday.

for clarification - does this mean the outcome will be given at 2 pm on Thursday (27 March?)

or that details of the judgement will be made public?

i.e. will the sales process be on hold for a week or can move forward after Friday (assuming a positive conclusion?)

It means the case is confirmed to be heard on Friday, on Thursday PM. They aren't confirmed until 24 hours prior to allow for last minute changes to trial, settlement, withdraws etc.

thanks - I was confusing myself - I'm not an expert with these matters and your explanation makes it all clear - I had completely misunderstood what was meant by "details on Thursday"
