From Despair To Where? Well, we have brought in 7 players with a few more rumoured to be on the go as well as tying up a load of new contracts. That's pretty ballsy activity for less than 4 weeks.

WestYorksRoyalSnowflake RoyalWestYorksRoyal On balance, I agree this is a long term project and it would be better to statt the season with the squad as it is and giving academy players a chance than sign the wrong option on a 2 year deal or longer.
But I don't think disagreeing with this makes you a bed wetter or idiot. It's natural to want your team to start the season well, and our attack is weak. We're top 6 standard in GK, defence and midfield and relegation battle standard on the wings and up front. We're two or three signings away from a good season. For what it's worth, I think we'll see some more arrivals before Lincoln, but it'll still be a slow start as they won't have had pre season to gel.
I think what makes one an idiot is having unrealistic expectations and having learnt precisely nothing from the last ten years, whilst also ignoring everything the club, Couhig et al have been saying.
Also, still being on twitter and tweeting.
Couhig et al have been extremely ballsy about what our transfer business will look like.

Hound I’ll accept Some of the language Couhig and co maybe hasn’t been the most helpful
‘Spectacular’ transfer window I think was one. But then it’s seems a bit of a cultural thing, Americans love their hyperbole. We’re a bunch of miserable cynical gits

"Just watch who we sign next" followed by tumbleweed was a good one.

From Despair To Where? I think it predates social media. I think it started with the advent of 24hr sports newscasting and the need to have a constant drip feed of news. We've been conditioned to believe that no news is bad news.
One of my favourite windows was 2015-16 where we seemed to be signing players out of nowhere with absolutely zero speculation on most of them. Yeah, most of them were flops but that's not really the point. "We've just signed someone from Benfica!!!!!" "Yeah but who the oxf*rd is Ola John?"
