Great news, of course. Sorry to add a note of caution, but I can't help thinking of the Tommy Smith debacle when he was announced as a new addition then he buggered off to Portsmouth before actually signing on the dotted line.

I think Leigertwood's a firmer signing than that, but he could be giving up a potential move to the Premiership if we don't go up. He's already giving up his stag do in Vegas for us though so his heart would seem to be in the right place.

marcusopp so it could be a record (or very close to).

No chance - isn't our record about £3.5M?

Agreed. I think it will under a million, with clauses that probably add up to 50% if we go up. All paid for out of unbudgeted income from our cup run and play off campaign, with plenty to spare. A very sensible way to spend money.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!
Since Sidwell left we havent yet had a decent midfield partnership and now i think we are pretty much there and i dont think its any coincidence at all that he has coincided with our rise up the table.... we have a core centre of the park and i think whoever has played with l-wood has looked awesome!

Wembley tickets arrived this morning and now we've signed Ledge! :)

Could not be happier with this signing. I'm sure he will be worth every penny of whatever we spent!

yehh we needed that experience in the middle, he's actually really composed on the ball as well. wins it then keeps it simple.

Do need some extra creativity in the middle next year, obviously if we get promoted, but also if we stay in the championship.

Maybe Lawson D'ath can step up, his record for reserves is incredible.

You really think winning 16/27 (60%) Drawing 7/27 (26%) and only losing 4 (Man City, QPR, Norwich, and a silly v Sheffield) is LUCK?

Of course, 86% of the time, when we won or drew, it was luck.

And when we lost it was what we deserved for being sh!t

Undisclosed could be so random.

I remember finding out Gunnarson costing £700k though and being pretty shocked. Pretty reliable source.

...Colins probably pissing his pants right now musing over us paying £750k for him ....he is similar to his buddy Mcanuff , both now in the journeyman category - hes on his 5th club in 10 seasons and McAnuff on his 6th in the same period ....sounds as if they start ok,then go downhill and get moved on...heres hoping anyway

Can't believe how fat and out of condition he looks. Last year he was onto players in a flash, this year he just seems to trundle around doing nothing.
