It does say "build their fitness back". Recovering from an injury or didn't do enough to keep fit over the summer, springs to mind.

A deal for Sam Hutchinson should be the next one over the line, presumably tomorrow.

Meanwhile it’s confirmed that Julian Jeanvier and Jacob Davenport have moved on and won’t be offered a deal.

I wonder if Wickham is still with us?

Julian Jeanvier, Connor Wickham, Jacob Davenport, Josh Murphy, Jodi Jones and Grant Ward are all no longer training with Reading. [@berkshire_live] #readingfc https://t.co/YbFBi1RXs4

Good to see we have moved on fairly quickly from them if they weren't quite right. Shows we either have confidence in recruiting better or in the youth to step up.

Was a rumour on Twitter that Jeanvier had had an altercation with a contracted player but Rae says he has gone to be with his wife who is about to give birth. Maybe that that one isn't quite dead yet if the latter is true.

Ward back at Blackpool looking to earn a deal there.

Quick look on Twitter for Guinness-Walker and seems to be fans of 3 or 4 other Champ clubs who think they are, or should be, in for him.

Could be a small coup to get him in. If we do, link to Bowen and the new coach we brought in from Wimbledon to thank.

Yes, hopefully we’ll make a quick decision about him.

I was hoping that we might be able to attract Troy Parrott given we have now have 2 of his international teammates. Been up in Chesterfield working this weekend and an annoying Derby fan reckons he’s going there. He’s predicting they’ll win League 1 with more than 106 points and he’s lumped £50 on it.

Derby certainly seem to be building their armoury…Loach, Collins, Korey etc etc should do well

Certainly enjoying their new-found freedom

Really didn’t think much of them, so happy with this.

Arrogant prick. A fair few teams have broken 100 in the last 30 ish years in L1, but the best anyone has done in that time is 103.

It's a tough league, and he'll be in for a rude awakening. It's not like they're clearly the biggest team in the league with Ipswich, Pompey and Wednesday there.

He should have a look at how Leeds and Sunderland did when they dropped.

Shouldn't they be facing another points deduction?

I think it depends how much of their debts they actually pay.

Don’t think a huge amount of the Derby signings tbh and they have such little left from admin etc

Suspect they’ll be lower mid table and certainly not champs with 100+ points

I think the meltdown in their fanbase if they are struggling in L1 will be something else.

Yes, they have a lot of reasonable fans - but it's the eejits that make the most noise

Agreed, there will be a not unsizeable group, who if they aren't say top 4 in November will be getting very noisy indeed. They will be expecting it to be a 1 season tour.

and somehow doing what they did doesn't seems to have contravened FFP guidelines which I think is

I bet all of their creditors who will be lucky to get back 25 pence to the pound back of all debt owed are thrilled at the players they are bringing in
