We've even been here before! But I like to think potential owners are not stupid enough to tease without a signed deal twice.

The caution is fair and warranted. Although, surely they wouldn't do this again before the full deal is finished and completed. Surely... please... (nothing would surprise me anymore)

As it looks like this is finally happening and Couhig is the man, what are people's predictions? A lot has been speculated about the academy, women's team and how committed Couhig is but what will actually happen?

Personally think:

Academy will stay but be downgraded to Cat 2
Women's team will potentially look for outside funding.
Couhig in for the short/medium term, will stabilise us, run us sustainably with a goal of getting us back to the Championship then sell on.

This is 100% the plan, but I suspect Couhig's tenure may be shorter than we think.

When he realises Reading is extremely short of decent places to eat it could throw the whole thing up in the air…..

I’d have pointed him to Munchies for a good old all day breakfast ( but it’s now defunct). Maybe Clay’s for an Indian, Yolk Cafe for a decent brunch or Orwell’s out at Shiplake for something a bit classier. London St Brasserie is ok for standard ‘nice enough’ restaurant grub.

That’ll definitely scare him away, as it would any sane human being

Readings got loads of decent places to eat, just not many of those ridiculous overpriced fine dining efforts

+1 for Clays though. Love that place

Glad someone said this.

The next question then is when will the official formal news come. Will it be tonight (with one source saying it's 7pm), or will it be tomorrow?

Edible Reading will have your guts for garters when he sees this lazy list.

I think he'll keep Cat 1 for a season and assess from there.

He apparently had funding for the women's team lined up previously.
