NR_Royal Now this is a very good Championship team:

-----------------------Federici-----------------------
---Cummings----Pearce----Gorkks------Mills----
----Kebe------Karacan---Leigertwood--McAnuff-
--------------------Hunt-----LeFondre-------------

Bench: McCarthy, Khumalo, Howard, Robson-Kanu, Manset

personally i think we all write off Griffin and Harte too easily, at the Bristol Rovers pre season we looked woeful until they both came on.

bit nervous about hunt and kebe as targets, keen to see this transfer window slam shut

moo Hunt will score more than le fondre would be fairer

You used the words FLOP in capitals, unlike you i think he will do well. If you arent that confident then how about £50 says he will score within his first 5 games?

Doyle and Long would shit on 1 in 5.

This guy has scored a minimum of 20 goals a season for the past 5 seasons!!!!!! :D I'm not sure there are many strikers in the 4 divisions out there that could say that??

I don't care what division this is in, if it's in the Football League then it's a bloody good rate, I reckon he more than deserves a chance in The Championship. I must admit I didn't see this signing coming so I am well chuffed. :D

I can't see we've got much to lose, he is 25 in December so will at the very least have a resale value. He does remind me of a Jamie Cureton type player and he looks like he hits the ground running at his previous clubs so it would be no suprise if he settles straight in to our regime.

Well, ideally I'd like 7 on the bench so I could put Griffin and Obita on it, but unfortunately we can't. I'd rather have more attackers on the bench.

Definitely got a touch of Curo about him. Great finisher. Mixes his pens up. Apparently had the nickname Alfie at Rovrum.

The Coventry City fans are disappointed that they could be missing out in signing Adam Le Fondre. Also one fan cannot understand that Le Fondre has rejected Coventry if this is the case because he believes Coventry is a better prospect than Reading. :)

ALF = Alien Life Form... coincidence?

Seriously pleased about this - especially at that price! Hope he lives up to my admittedly high expectations.

I think this signing is the most appropriate [and sensible] option. Obviously there would be serious questions for the top to answer if we had sold our star striker and done nothing. We couldn't spend circa £3million, otherwise there would have been little value in selling Long.

It is a gamble, but the most measured of the options available.

Come to think of it, was it ALF that Brian commented on at the Fans' Forum last night?

When his name was mentioned, Brian sort of rolled his eyes and said something about "wouldn't we all like him". Everyone laughed as if it was obvious we wouldn't be signing him because of the money. Then he mysteriously said "Watch this space." Talk about keeping your cards close to your chest.

Looking at the bigger picture, who are we offloading as bmc mentioned he's spoken with a couple of squad players and something may happen in terms of departures. So is he referring to someone like bignall and Williams or even church and maybe Howard?

Williams probably... both of them... one on loan and one transferred for good.

Howard I would suggest, as a dead cert, he's wasting his time here

Jay Tabb possibly likewise

Church obviously needs first team games...but not at this level

@Felixstodds Deal is virtually done, it'll all be confirmed when Rotherham complete a deal for their replacement.

Sarah Star Williams probably... both of them... one on loan and one transferred for good.

Williams will go, guaranteed, Brian was very frank about that on Thursday.

brett or marcus?

i would like brett out on loan as soon as he's fit enough. as for marcus, the sooner he leaves the better. what a disaster.

indeed, but cummings wasn't replaced twice. marcus had this summer to prove he had something about him and he didn't. joseph mills has come in to push ian harte and ultimately take his place. there is no room for sentiment. m.williams' days are numbered.

thanks

but that sounds a bit familiar

not saying it would work....nor am I particularly that bothered but

MaccyD's masterstroke was to make Cummings reserve team captain (whilst the "hiarachy" on here massacred him)..he rose to the challenge...and the only conumdrum now is why he didn't displace one or two others sooner last season

If Williams has an inkling of a future here....he will get adequate chance

....and just maybe....that same "hiarachy" will eat the leftovers of cummings pie

reading fc would be the winner in that case and so im all for it. i have never put cummings down, though he did struggle when he arrived but then so did so many under rodgers inept tactics.

harte wont be here long, this season at the most, so there is room for a left back if williams can prove his worth in the reserves or out on loan, though i do feel it's unlikely. to have come in a year ago and been bad enough that the manager chose to sign two more left backs says a lot, but things can change as we know.
