Sounds like he's given up on one while Trapatoni is in charge.

He made similar comments last year, Trap didn't give a shit then still doesn't now.

He must still be the best Irish LB though?

You'd think, but Trapattoni prefers Bristol City's Greg Cunningham.

cmonurz You'd think, but Trapattoni prefers Bristol City's Greg Cunningham.

He does seem to make some baffling selection choices.

I understand not going with Harte, it's not long ago he was playing for Carlisle and his career looked nearly over. And now he's not exactly a forward looking call up, even if he may be the best player available. He's certainly not likely to get the call after the comments about Trapattoni this year and last.

Didn't even know he was Irish?? Lol! He played for Ireland in the bleeding world cup! He also has the broadest Dublin accent I've ever heard so it really shows Trap can't be following football all that closely!

Trap does seem to select Simon Cox ahead of Shane Long a lot as well.

I appreciate that Harte isn't exactly one for the future there aren't too may Irish players knocking about with his experience at the very highest level. Robbie Keane (who I have an irrational dislike for) and maybe Shay Given. He's surely got something to offer the squad.

trap's selections are at times shocking. especially picking doyle, cox, and walters over long for the last couple of years. ridiculous.

I think he's unhappy that Derby's Conor Sammon has been given the nod ahead of him. I can see the arguement. Samon has scored 7 in 30, whilst Hunt has scored 6 in 10 including 2 premiership goals.

It's better record vs planning for the future.
