Ola and his mother and siblings fled Liberia to The Netherlands to avoid the civil war that killed his father.

I would presume, therefore, that there were family connections that drove them go the The Netherlands rather than other countries

After living in The Netherlands since he was two until he signed for Porto at the age of twenty would suggest the obvious reason he sees himself as Dutch.

I think we've settled that Ola John is a Spanish Liberian Dutchman with Chilean, Portuguese, and Brazilian relatives.

But by the time he gets us promoted, consolidates, qualify for the Europa league, win it, qualify for the Champions League, win it, win the premier league, fa cup and league cup, he will be eligible for full British residency. And a knighthood.
