New RFC manager person specification

by floyd__streete » 02 Jun 2016 13:11

- Must have previous knowledge of managing in The Championship. A track record of success in that division would be desirable.

- Must have good scouting linking links.

- Ideally would have held some other backroom roles in order to present as a more rounded candidate.

- Must have a track record of achieving respectable results at Championship level without necessarily having the biggest budget available.

- Must be currently unemployed as the club is unlikely to be able to afford to pay compensation.

Who on earth could we possibly find to fit such criteria? :!: :!:

Malky Mackay, Gary Bowyer, Gianfranco Zola, Alex McLeish, Paul Lambert and Tony Mowbray are all available and meet that criteria.

Not that i'd personally be hugely overwhelmed by any of those.

Is there not a rumour that Bruce might get the sack? Hes a proven success at Championship level.

floyd__streete - should have previous knowledge of managing in The Championship. A track record of success in that division would be desirable. or in any division.

- Must have good scouting linking links. - not necessary if brian T has those....

- Ideally would have held some other backroom roles in order to present as a more rounded candidate. -meh

- Must have a track record of achieving respectable results at Championship level without necessarily having the biggest budget available. - desireable, not a must, in our current situation.

- Must be currently unemployed as the club is unlikely to be able to afford to pay compensation.

I think Bruce would be a superb choice given the circumstances. Here's another one to add to his bow:

- works well despite nutcase owners

Owner requirements
  • - Must have previous knowledge of football, big names are desirable. No experience within the UK necessary although managing youth players on the continent is a bonus. Evidence is success is not a prerequisite.
  • - Does not require scouting links, limited capacity to sign own players as Pieroj will take care of this for you. He may well pick the formation and team on the day, also.
  • - Must be currently unemployed or available at next to no cost (under 21 managers are fine), and very cheap by way of wages.
  • - Freedom of thought and mental capability is not required, this role is purely ambassadorial but we cannot officially name it "Chief Scapegoat".
  • - Hair optional.

Win quite a few more games than lose
Get the players showing they care
Make it fun to watch Reading again
Ideally at least a play off place

Don't care if cheap or expensive, famous or no name, just do 3 of the 4 above
