League Cup: Plymouth (H) - Predictions.

Shove your EFL bollocks up you're arse.

3-1 Reading go a goal down early on but take control of the game thereafter.

Narrow 2-1 win by Reading but I reckon it will be a young/newbie team put out by Stam. Jaakkola in goal, Kelly, Tanner, Harriott etc will get to play.

After a good start to the season and Plymouth losing 0-3 at home first game,
it's hard to see anything but a solid win to nil for us.

As I am off to vote for Jeremy it will probably be our best win
of the season (I mean the whole season)

3-0 or 4-0

Think this will be a very good game.

Plymouth are no mugs and will be up there in league 2 even with their bad defeat on Saturday.

Thus I've gone for Reading 3-2 Plymouth

Fortunately Carl McHugh has gone to Motherwell so we're spared the curse of the ex-player.

If we play a strong team then 2-1 Reading, goals from Kermogant and Harriott for us and Carey for them. A significantly weakened team will mean 3-1 Plymouth, goals from Carey, Goodwillie and Jervis balanced by one from Tanner.

That's extremely pessimistic, so despite a good performance and a win on Saturday, a strong team will only scrape a 2-1 win against a League Two side, whereas a weakened side that man for man is still better than Plymouth will lose 3-1?

I'd suggest a strong team we'll win by 2 goals+ and it will be comfortable, a weakened side and I imagine we still should win but it will be a lot harder to call.

1-0
McCleary?

Stam will continue to tease us with progress but I doubt we will be able to score lots this season...

Yeah on reflection I was too pessimistic.

Something like last night's team is what I'd call a "strong" side. A weaker side would have started with Tanner in for Beerens, Kelly and Kuhl in for Swift and Williams with Evans pushed up, Jules in for Gunter, Dickie for Joey, etc. But even that team would probably have won against Plymouth, who aren't the team they were last season.
