He leaves teams in tatters with no young players blooded and a load of overpaid, old shit.

Yep. Terrible appointment. Utd are such a state because of the mess he left them in.

Chelsea improved once he left again.

Everything about his approach is negative and toxic.

He's a dinosaur and a horrendous person.

But oh well, they might win the FA Cup under him.... :|

Much of that is absolutely true, but he isn't solely responsible for the Manure mess. That's been a festering sore since 12 months before Ferguson left, despite the fact that they won the title that year. In all seriousness, it could be a Liverpool style gap in title winning for Utd.

No arguments there.

Proof once again you know nothing about football.

How many trophies did he win at the clubs you mentioned? He is a winner, nothing else is important.

This is a Reading forum. If we all thought winning was all that matters none of us would be here.

Old Man Andrews That's because Spurs supporters are completely delusional, whiny, moany, self entitled and so used to failure that it warps their tiny minds. They think they have the "Spurs way" and Mourinho will change that. The Spurs way is just a myth, its meaningless. They haven't won anything for about 10 years now, 10 years!! Pochettino won nothing for them, he failed. Mourinho doesn't fail and before someone says it he didn't fail at United, he won the Europa League and League Cup with them and took them to 2nd in the league. Where are they now? Nowhere.

Mourinho is a winner, Spurs are losers and always have been. Daniel Levy is trying to change that and he's doing it by employing one of the most successful club managers of all time. Anyone who thinks he is a bad manager needs to look at the stuff he has won, it stands up against any manager in history.

1. United have been a state since Ferguson left. Hasn’t Mourinho got the highest finish there since SAF left?

2. The stats are there to support you and I don’t disagree. But didn’t Mourinho do the exact same thing Ancelotti and Conte did? Win the title one season, have a poor next season, then get a new manager in the season after? Parts of it may be down to Chelsea and the players themselves

3. He bases his gameplay against the big teams in a defensive manner for sure, but 72 goals in 04/05 suggests against your point

4. Can’t disagree

5. He’s won plenty more than the FA cup to be fair

They're out of the League Cup. They have no chance in the PL.
They have no chance in the Champions League.

And he knows that, he said it yesterday. This season is about getting in the Champions League next season and building a squad to challenge for the league.

Five or six years ago Mourinho would be an excellent appointment. Pretty much a sure fire success.

Appointing him now, given his obvious mental health issues since his final season at Madrid and the Chelsea Doctor saga, is a big risk. I'm sure Spurs will be hoping he is in a better place than he has been.

Then there is the obvious conflict of big spending Mourinho and cloth cutter extraordinaire Levy.

He certainly checks a few boxes on the psychopath test.

Cunning / Manipulative
Grandiose sense of self
Glib / Superficial charm
Lack of remorse or guilt
Lack of empathy
Pathological liar

Though I'd have him down as a narcissist personally.

He's seemed pretty clearly depressed at times in recent years too.

Was Sir Alex Ferguson not all of those things at times?

Not really relevant to the point whether they fit a different person, but no. I would say not all of those fit Fergie.

Well it is because you are throwing things at Mourinho that could describe many successful football managers.

You're making out that Mourinho is the only football manager on Earth who is like he is. I would argue a large amount of managers are exactly like him in many ways but just not as successful. Wenger, Pardew, Warnock, Pep just to name a few.

I doubt it. Because if he was, I doubt he'd have had the success he maintained through all his years at United. Mourinho loses the dressing room after a few years, SAF never did. I'm pretty sure if SAF was all those things, he'd have gone the same way Mourinho does

He was certainly cunning

I think he had a high opinion of himself (with good reason, as does Mourinho)

Definite lack of guilt

Lacked empathy with his own player (Beckham, Rooney)

Not sure on him being a liar, more said things to suit his own agenda.

Grandiose doesn't just mean high, it's exaggerated.
Having bust ups with a couple of players isn't exactly compelling evidence of a lack of empathy. Not that SAF is at all relevant to whether those descriptors are accurate for Mourinho. Which IMO they are. And you don't appear to be disagreeing with that. Just randomly chucking in other people, like it matters whether they also check the boxes or not on a discussion about whether Mourinho does.

QPR generally roughing up and closing down the Barcelona of SW London to good effect.

Their defence is shit and they’re struggling to pass the ball.

The entitled wnakers.
