It wouldn't surprise me if we already have 3 or 4 lined up and ready to announce when they feel the time is right. I have great faith in Bowen and I'm sure Carey has great contacts and an extensive list of players to choose from.

Chelsea used to be a great feeder club for us, but with Carey in place and hopefully having left Spurs on good terms then i would expect a pool of Spurs youngsters would be made available to us.

WIth Bowen’s mentor and mate Mark Hughes now in charge at Bradford surely we can expect a flood of top Yorkshire teenage talent to be heading our way on loan....

Bradford are in league 2 so this won’t be happening.

blythspartan Seen rumours of Holmes to Forest again. I know there is already a topic about this but at this rate we might go into preseason with zero players.

Yeah I have seen that. Wasn't overly impressed with Holmes last season, but got obvious talent and potential at his best and it would be a shame to lose another good academy graduate as well.

His wages aren't massive at all so we don't save much there, only on what we've offered him now should he sign, but we would receive a small compensation fee due to his age which might be useful enough for us in some ways. It would also open up another place for a more experienced CB with some pace to cover our weaknesses in that area from last season as well, silver linings.

I hope it's true. Rinse Forest like we did with Leicester for Matt Mills

Might be tricky seeing as Holmes isn't under contract from what I recall.

Good to see you're still around, Gaz. Good loan again if he comes back too.

It would be great to see him back. Also, I believe the next AFCON is June 23 so we wouldn’t lose him at an important time again.

He was ok.

I don't mind loans to fill a gap. Not keen on them long term for the same position.

Don't really want many of last season’s loanees back, certainly not as loanees. Break the cycle of poor performance and not giving a shit.

New names, new faces, new start please.

Is there a difference between a loanee and a player on a one year contract ?

Beggar's can't be choosers, Ian. We're in no position to be fussy.

Not really. Could be recalled at a push but even that’s rare

I'd take Baba back for next season, was probably our second best defender individually last season behind Yiadom. As much as our defensive record was woeful, it's tough to pin on two individuals when talking about a system. The real thing that needs to/needed to change was the structure of the team, which it did at a pivotal time. I certainly wouldn't complain about having him back for another season.
