Context really. SJM was saying that in the context of becoming PL regulars which was beyond him. But at the moment, having a solid Championship club who play good football and have a good connection with the fans is beyond these owners. I'd rather have competent owners over loaded owners. Ideally you'd get the winning ticket and an owner who is both like Leicester, but they seem to be in short supply.

Only way we get new owners are:

a) a billionaire - probably American wants a club he can go to easily and sees us as an obvious bet - makes an offer the Dai's can't refuse
b) we get relegated, possibly go into admin and are bought out of it by someone like SCL, who help us rebuild from L2.

Not more only British people can know English football rubbish. Difficult to reorganise when EFL have imposed so many constraints on us. And I think our current owners have already written off a fair amount of the money they have spent on us.

You really should hope and pray the Chinese stay on board. If they get fed up they will simply place the club in administration as they own the main assets (ground and Bearwood) and so the only assets the club really owns are the players and most of them are out of contract at the end of the season.

We will then almost certainly get a 21 point deduction and be relegated and so will be in L1 next season and in administration and will few if any assets. Hardly an attractive bet for your UK billionaire to bail us out. Especially as they will then also need to rent/buy the ground/training ground from Chinese if the club is going to continue.

Frankly if fans keep moaning about them I will not be surprised if the Chinese do pull the plug and if they do who can blame them.
