Agreed-surely you can't play a player if you haven't paid for him?

This whole situation reminds me of when West Ham signed those two players illegally and stayed up at the expense of Sheff Utd.

That still irks me to this day. I f*cking hate West Ham as a result.

Tevez and Mascherano

Those were the guys. I couldn't be bothered to google the correct spelling.

Mr Angry If Bielik is ineligible - and from that EFL statement a couple of days ago, it is arguable that he is - then the punishment used to be crystal clear - a deduction of all points won when he was in the match day squad.

That was thrown into the air by the Tevez debacle, where West Ham got a financial hit rather than a points hit.

Playing a player you haven't paid for isn't the issue; many transfer deals are done with isntalment payments; however, when installment payments are missed, clubs should be made clear that the player then is ineligible and what the punishment will be in playing him.

Bluntly, the EFL needs to grom a pair of balls and stand up to the clubs who look to abuse the system.

Arsenal allowed Derby to pay in 2023.a bit like Fulham with Wilson.

Ironically the man behind those transfers was Kia Joorabchian.

Wait. What??

How is he still in football?!??!

No clue. I think he had plans to buy Fulham back in 2006 as well, can't he just do that now and get away from our club.

He's also gone through a shed load of English clubs riddled with issues before, such as Portsmouth, Newcastle (during administration and relegation seasons) as well as ourselves and Everton in present day. Why anyone touches him with a bargepole, I do not know.

I don't see how Derby could have a case against us considering we had zero involvement in their financial situation or the punishment handed to them by the FA.

It's like me being sacked and suing the person who gets my job rather than the company who sacked me.

Agree they would have to sue the FA if anyone. There is no case against us.

Don't think we'll need to worry too much about this.

+1 we look as good as relegated just waiting to see whether we have a club left at the end of it.

If by some miracle we stay up, why is it only Derby that can file a law suit? I'd have thought any team that finishes below us would have a similar case ( basically "if Reading were docked more points we'd have finished above them").

Unless we actually find form from somewhere and actually finish more than 3pts clear of the relegation zone.

I think that's the crux of this right, that we got 6pts for FFP and they got 9pts?
