ksvr.be KSR and football KSR Roeselare is a Belgian football club based in Roeselare. This club became important in 1999 when the 2 clubs of Roeselare came together: KFC Roeselare + KSK Roeselare. The football club KSR was in division 1 of the Belgian championship from 2005 to 2010. Since 2019, life at the club has been complicated. The club has had several bankruptcies and plans for economic recovery. The Covid-19 crisis put an end to the various projects proposed by the owner of the club Xiu Li Dai. The club has been officially bankrupt since September 2020.

Difficult to find any English articles explaining exactly what happened and whether the club's collapse was primarily the fault of the owner or just stuff that happened, at just the wrong time, simply due to poor results affecting dwindling cashflow.

If anyone finds anything more that explains in depth then that might be of real interest.

I though it was due to a winding up order triggered by an undisclosed debt left by the previous owners.

Does seem odd that they weren't able to cover it. IiIRC, it was for about £20,000 but However, I also seem to remember Roeselaire were in a shocking state financially when they bought them and they introduce swingeing budget cuts.

I do wonder if all the value was in the land and that's what they had their eyes on. Not for one moment suggesting this is the case though, if any Chinese lawyers are reading. Having said that, the stadium is now used by Club Brugge reserves.

Suspect that Covid put a severe dent in the family fortune. As the rental income dried up from their shopping mall empire. Dai put what eggs he had left into one basket and had one final roll of the dice........
