How does the Rose and Thistle bus service operate?

I'm wondering if my local, which empties as soon as the 72a or 72b appears might consider something simlar as they can get an hours extra sales in before the match, get some car drivers attracted to the place and fill up their carpark (and the surrounding free parking spaces nearby) and sell some drinks after the game.

Even if it was a £5 charge the same as the 72a or 72b it would be a better option due to going direct to and from the stadium and not getting us there over an hour before kickoff with nothing to do.

Dunno about the R&T but the one on Caversham Bridge charges £2-50p return.

Chat to the landlord, is he still the rugger bloke?? and suggest it. The basically have tickets made out, and sell till they reach a bus full i think.

The Prince of Wales bus works on the proviso that all users purchase a couple of pints each.

I think, with regards to organisation, that the landlord needs to inform RFC of their intentions and I would imagine to get their go ahead. Not sure about police, I think RFC inform the plod about things like that. It's then a case of going to Reading Buses and asking to hire one of their finest.

The Nag's Head operate one too, priced at £2.50 return. Superb service, gets you to the ground for 2.45 and avoids the long queue after the match. I'm sure any deficit in hire costs are more than compensated in increased beer revenue.
