The only trouble will be the 14,000 extra new fans. They won't be proper fans, just new fans who will be fickle and have a poor knowledge of football.

So, do you reckon that Man Utd just came into existance with 76,000 hard core, know all about football fans? No they didn't, they got those fans through expansion exactly the way Reading fc are doing it.

You have to attend matches to gain the knowledge and you can't do that if you can't get a seat.

come on then, you explain how Reading fc should expand it's fanbase without increasing capacity....i'll find it an interesting read.

Woodcote Royal I criticized Scott Browns remarks as totally unnecessary and would have said the same regardless of the size of the club to which he was referring.

You're the one who seems to assume that anyone who holds this view must have "Little Club Syndrome"

Well you'd know a lot about making unfounded assumptions. You only have to look at the way you repeatedly said that everyone who thinks Sidwell did a good job for us and didn't want him to leave, must have wanted to lick his arse and have his babies, to see that.

If that's a photo then they have done a hell of a job getting the North Stand extended since last night !

I personally think they should keep the west stand as it is, and make the rest of the ground terracing. Could easily get 50,000+ around the ground and it will give it some character. No chance in this day and age though.

We have obviously bought the retail park and are converting it into a park.

So from those pictures the East and North Stands will not have brick facings, so what are they going to do with all the bricks that people have paid good money to have on the stadium?

The Reading Borough website has all the plans which clearly show quite a lot of detail. For example there is a disabled area in the East Stand from about Row V to DD roughly and extending across the best part of 3 blocks. It also indicated the new capacity will be 36,900.
As the club have these final plans approved why do they not tell us which seats will be lost

Leave them where they are?

So how would that work considering the footprint of the stadium will be moving out by about 8 metres?

Not sure that getting planning permission would be relevant to that would it ?

My point is that the plans are now final. So the club knows what the final layout will be so they could tell us

Surely they just know they can build? Now they'll discuss the 'final' plans with the contractors.

Some elements will be 'final', although can always be amended.

But there will be lots of parts that aren't finalised. If you build an extension on your house you submit plans but don;t tell them what shelves you'll put onthe walls or what colour you will paint it.

I'm not sure whether the plans had to include the precise seating layout seeing as the seats aren;t structural but are just bolted on to the concrete steps.

You would imagine the seating plans are relatively advanced though...
