Season Ticket Holder Offer

by Physci » 27 Mar 2008 14:17

Seems the club are expecting a less than full house for Fulham so are offering season ticket holders 1/2 price on a ticket for a friend...email received earlier today

Dear Season Ticket Holder.

We are approaching the end of the 2007/8 Premier League season and as a valued Season Ticket holder, we would like to offer you the opportunity to bring a friend to our game against Fulham on Saturday 12th April for half price.

This offer is only open to Season Ticket holders currently and is fantastic value; for example, a standard adult ticket in the East Stand will cost just £14 with the half price discount. If you wish to switch from your regular Season Ticket seat to sit with your friend, we will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability.

To purchase your half price ticket, please call 0870 999 1871 or visit the Madejski Stadium Ticket Office in person.

This offer is available until Wednesday 9th April and is subject to availability.

We hope you will take advantage of this offer and bring a friend along to what promises to be an exciting and crucial game for the Royals.

Thank you for your support.

Kindest regards,
Reading Football Club

Seems a good idea to me, better than risking empty seats

Where's the disclaimer that says 'bring a friend, but they will probably have to sit on their own!!!'

I can't even sell my own seat at games for £20 most of the time against decent opposition. Still, a great idea and fair play to RFC.

Bringing friends has been more aggravation than it's worth for the past 2 years and I can't be alone in having not bothered throughout this time.

If I'm going to move to sit with friends I'd like us all to sit together in decent seats.

I don't want to pay half price for seats that, for instance, are down the front where my friends and I might get soaked because the club have been too tight in the last 10 years to ensure that these areas remain dry in sh*t weather.

Even last weeks fixture against lowly Brum attracted over 24k, making clear that we need more seating if we wish to expand the fan base..............just the East Stand this summer would have been sufficient.

When the club provide the seating, I'll happily pay FULL price to bring my friends.

In the meantime, I'M NOT INTERESTED IN CR@P SEATS AT HALF PRICE!!!!

All of which supports the arguments that club needs more seats - to allow flexibility of pricing and to allow people to easily bring frields and family along.

I know so many people who'd love to be able to bring extra people along - but the lack of seats means this isn't possible, for all the reasons you've given.

Or, turn the North Stand into a terrace. Then you cxan bring your friends and stand where you like.

Except the engineering was designed for sitting, loads and stresses may not be up to standing, though the front area up to the disabled bit is built on more solid foundations I think so that could be done.

When I saw this message header in my inbox I thought there might be a renewal offer but no, they wanted to squeeze yet more money out of me.

It should be called "Friend of Season Ticket Holder Offer"

Well done and Reading FC.

Got through reasonably easily

Spoke to a proper person

Got a half price ticlet for Mrs Beez, not too far away from the rest of us on the East stand
