I remember Henry. Used to shout 'Pa'ist' instead of 'post' through years of shouting it and a old Reading accent.

Directed the away coaches for years even though he had nothing to do with the club officially, they just let him get on with it.

Last time I saw him was on the coach to an away game in the early 90's. He pissed himself and was barred from travelling again. Thought it was funny at the time, but very sad for the poor bloke looking back. He died not long after.

To be fair I doubt there are many on here that remember him.

Although I did not know him personally. To me he was part of Elm Park, along with playing Workington Town, the guy putting the half times scores on the alphabet board, Mouldy Old Dough and the piss puddles at the back of the South Bank etc.

At the turn of another year. Happy days really

This thread reminded me of the old chap who used to walk around the pitch at Elm Park selling Reading Evening Post. Selling with his trademark call out of....

"Edgybah eddybah" or something like that.

Colin the Cheeselog used to be our mascot, however after failing miserably every year in the Mascot Grand National they replaced him with the first Kingsley. Prior to that I believe we had two biscuitmen mascots named huntley and palmer who used to throw biscuits into the crowd at half time and also for a short while a Berkshire Pig mascot which was an actual pig and on more than one occasion it left small brown presents on the pitch at half time which had to be removed by Gordon Neate and co.

Sir John Madejski did attempt to introduce a giant walking Autotrader mascot, but I think that was more of a publicity thing rather than an official mascot and we also had some camels at the Madejski Stadium to raise awareness of water aid or something.

Those were the days - Have I missed any out?
