West Stand Flash I went. That's all I'll say on the matter.

Want to know more, then don't be a tight arse & pay the tenner!!!

Well done. I live and work in London, so annoyingly wasn't able to make it tonight. Unless I took to hiding in the First Great Western toilet facilities (I'm told this works a treat), it would have cost me an additional £40 for the honour of traveling on their peak time train (and back again) to make it down in time, another £10 on a taxi (probably more on the bus) and that's before I've had a bite to eat from somewhere that isn't my fridge. Concluded that it probably wasn't the best way to spend my money for a load of information that isn't going to set the world alight.

The thing that cracks me up is the assumption that what the club tells the fans at this evening is somehow "secret squirrel" and must be paid for. Do you really think they are going to tell a gaggle of fans something more than they would tell the media? Ever been to the Fans Forum and got a world class exclusive that wasn't in the Reading Post the next day? Nope. So kindly get off your high horse, ignore the wrath of STAR-lin and their attempts to control mundane information and tell us if something interesting was actually said.

Worth £10:

Fan: Nigel, are there any players that definitely won't get a look in under your management?
Nigel Adkins: Yup, Jimmy Kebe. As the second coming of christ, I have concluded I should probably sell him to Real Madrid, who have already bid £40m for him. Please don't tell the media this, despite the fact the Reading Post are sat at the back of the room, this is just our little secret that have chosen to bestow on you, 75 odd Reading fans in a room.

Not Worth £10:

Fan: Nigel, are there any players that definitely won't get a look in under your management?
Nigel Adkins: All the players will have their chance under me, I like to play passing football, all of the lads here are great lads etc. etc. media training, media training.

No prizes for guessing which answer was more likely...but I guess we'll never know.

It would be worth twice that to join a supporters club that aspires to represent all our fans rather than just their friends and those who like to spend half their weekend on a coach.......................sadly, we don't have one.

The club are actively looking for a striker.
Drenthe can be a star here but he needs to behave off the pitch.
Bridge wasn't first choice LB.
Adkins came across very passionate. By the end of the forum I wanted to go home with him!

As much as i love football and RFC, i couldn't think of anything worse than wasting an evening clapping and acting a mong oxf*rd over Adkins. I have far better things to be doing.

Thanks for the information. As I said originally I know various bits can't be revealed but I think some is harmless enough. For instance, having attended the forum last year I wouldn't have posted McDermott's comments on Long, Allardyce or Warnock, but would have seen no problem revealing that McDermott wanted 2 players for every position or that he'd felt downbeat after the Crystal Palace game at the end of the previous season as he'd feared we'd missed out on the Championship.

And as also said initially I was as interested as much on the interpretation of what was said and how it left fans feeling ahead of the new season. It sounds like people are generally optimistic and that Adkins came across well which is pleasing to hear!

Club looking for a striker.
Options always open, want a player to fit the Reading mould.
Tough team choices for the season ahead starting Saturday.
We will do it the Reading way.
Players adopting to new philosphy.
Want to excite the fans.
I am one of you.
We are on a journey together.
Great togetherness.
Transfer window, still a long way to go.

You get the picture....

So Drenthe hasn't grown up then... How long is he going to last.
