I would also be loking at upping the price on the top seats in the ground, despite the idea that there are no bad views if the club are to maximise income then some blocks should be more expensive.

That's a bit unfair as people would not have the chance top move as all season tickets are sold.

Woodcote Royal
Rawlie19 Just because people are stupid enough to buy them (myself included) doesn't mean they are value for money.

We have no shortage of stupid people in this country who are responsible for raisng the value of all manner of dreadful cr@p but this still amounts to supply and demand, which is what sets the price of most of what we buy.

On the other hand, items such as petrol have artificially inflated prices thanks to another kind of idiot................the type who are arrogant enough to believe that those they've ripped off for the last 9 years will vote for them in the next election.

You're not a fan of our current Prime Minister are you Woodcote?

Why would anyone care if some folks were unable to afford the new prices, so long as the new seats were sold?

Not really, but I'm looking forward to one of the following.

"Brown leads Labour to election defeat"

Or

"Brown steps aside for good of party"

One of the 2 is guaranteed to happen at or before the next election.............and it can't come soon enough for me

I think we'll just about sell out the majority of home games this season.

IF we stay up, the novelty factor of the Premiership will wear off after a while, that would be the time that we'd see a true reflection of the need for a stadium expansion, but, if we don't build it when we're on this high then we probably never will.

Bringing this one back to the top as O/S now mentions min 10k increase in pipeline.

Good news, exciting times for the club and a must have if we're to sustain in Prem and compete with middle order of the league. Now we just need to find another 10k plastics..... :D

I just hope they also have a plan with regards to how they will get all the additional cars to and from the stadium and where to park them.

Preliminary plans show an additional 10,860 seats.

5,280 on the east stand..

2,790 on each of the north and south stands.

The stadium will end up looking of 'circular' design and the additional stands/concourse areas will affect most of the perimeter roads around the stadium, hence there should be need for modified pedestrian and vehicle access to the stadium.

The expansion will need to include an Environmental Impact Assessment and the planning application process could be a long drawn out procedure as there will probably be various concerns such as: traffic congestion, parking, light pollution, visual impact..

Hope this is useful.

Indeed. Obviously they would have to have the train station in place first. Perhaps a few other car parks properly organised by the club, maybe some sort of park and ride scheme? Congestion charge anyone?

This upgrade is a long way off.... ie. 5 years - so if the club has to wait for this to be in place first then there will be no stadium increase for 6-7 years!

The J11 upgrade is separate from the Mereoak Lane roundabout upgrade - and it is this one that would include a park & ride.

I was just using shorthand as I believe that the J11 and Mereoak are a combined scheme.

which is what was implied by the reports in all the papers about it, otherwise the slip road from the M4 to the new Mereoak rbout will look a bit silly.

There is No chance whatsoever that this work will be completed in 2 years.

It was intended to be a combined scheme with Mereoak however it involves 2 different Councils and the Mereoak scheme hasn't even got a planning application in yet so unless they do one scheme without the other the whole thing is going to take even longer..

Who says the two schemes are still combined - the WDC & RBC sites each have them as seperate works.
