I don't get why this particular 2-4-1 offer is making people rethink getting an ST.

Even with this offer, a fan going to every homegame without a ST will still be paying about £70 more than a ST holder over the season.

If the person using it only goes to a handful of games then them getting this one free, really shouldn't bother an ST holder.

Having bought my ST a long time ago, I'm quite happy that efforts are being made to get as many people in as possible so there's more chance of a better atmosphere.

And as long as it doesn't cost me money I can't see the problem.

For all those against this offer, it could be worse:

Seeing as RFC naturally want the stadium to be as full as possible I'd have a "two for the price of one" offer over a "kid for a quid" offer every time.

Dirk Gently And as long as the club think of ideas I'll nod my head. I can't see the problem.

As wind-ups go, not one of your better efforts - you only have to read what I've posted in the very next thread to see what I reckon of their marketing efforts.

weybridgewanderer so almost exaclty the proposal you came up with yet we still only sold what, 8000 season tickets that season?

Nope i thought we sold 11-000 and when the HST was offered early when we were so far ahead, it bumped up to 18-000, with more wanting to take it up.

That was the early renewal price during the 04/05 season, when we might have made the play offs, but didnt, lots liked the idea of a cheap season in the Prem, sadly not offered in early 06.

RFC need to learn how to market again, Boyd Butler knew a few tricks, and was highly visible, offering two for one, at the same time as two matches to be paid for at a similar time seems a tad crazy.

its exactly what we alwayd did

04/05 it was 3 for 4 offers

think it was about 8000 season ticket holders at the start of 05 06 and went up to 18000 when the half season went on sale, like many other regular attenders i bought one coz i would have lost my regular seat and been moved into the south stand

and now you are proposing a pricing policy similar to what the club did then and evenm you admit it did not fill the stadium with season ticket holders till we looked like we were going to get promoted

Our St at that time were in line with other clubs at this level, I suggest a dramatic fall compared to other clubs, not really the same thing. Bradford have the cheapest St in Div4 i believe, and they sell out, to most it hardly mattters if you attend or not, the loss is not dramatic, as we see from our pricing ST are really for hard core fans who want to go to every game, otherwise many have said it is not worth the money.

Pfuckers, that's the final straw, that Southampton game being free was the sole ray of sunshine in this depression of a season. Rodgers out

You may mock but mark my words - they'll be giving Eater bunnies to the whole crowd for the Coventry match STH or otherwise. All 12,000 of us.

Make that 10,000.

I still have my "free friend" early renewal tickets. Is it fair to force a friend to watch this shit?

I just went along to the ticket office to claim mine. I got a free ticket to see the Watford game.

When I had a season ticket the main perk was not having to go through the hassle of buying a ticket for every game (which is no easy task at the mad stad), guaranteed same seat and priority for away games.

I'd always miss a couple of games in a season so financially it only ever worked out about the same as buying individual tickets, but that wasn't the point.

I don't think we need to worry about AST priorities at the mo. The only downside is going to the T/O for me but i used to always collect my away tickets anyway.
(since the farce of Preston last season).

I'm more interested in getting a half-season ticket. It's only the first half of matches that are worth watching.

Do what I did and take a wino/tramp off the street, he loved it. Was great watching his face light up walking into the ground, although he did smell a bit and i moved along one seat. Try it lets get the stadium full of tramps !
