West Stand Man RoyalBlue It was sh*t and I immediately sat down in protest!
I'd love to know what the club regard as constituting popular demand.
We do not need stupid music to celebrate a goal. As has been said many times before, that's the one time when supporters do not need encouragement to go wild and make some noise.
Oh my god, here we go again. It is the old 'I don't like the music and I'll ignore the fact that a substantial proportion of the crowd does (or at least joins in)' game.
If you don't like it then just ignore it, but don't ask half witted questions like that in your last sentence. Just look around the stadium - it is painfully obvious what constitutes popular demand.
And I think you're depriving a village somewhere of a resident.
The fact that people carry on celebrating the goal when the music is played, with some joining in the arm motions like brainless zombies, does not mean that they all emailed/rang the club asking for the return of the music. So nothing wrong with my question at all - how many people contacted the club to ask for the music back and prompting the use of the term 'by popular demand'.
And whilst we're at it, why not do a Wycombe and start the tom-toms each time we win a corner. That will add to the atomosphere and if they keep it going long enough the brain dead will join in.
Come to think of it, let's have some piped crowd noise, then supporters won't have to bother to do anything themselves. We can even play some boos over the tannoy each time Brynjar or Oster give the ball away!
As for the argument advanced by someone else that it prolongs the atmosphere/celebrations - it probably does the exact opposite. The moment the music is turned off everyone shuts up and sits down!!
So maybe it's really a clever and devious bit of crowd/mind control on the part of the safety police at T he Mad Stad to make sure everyone sits down quickly!!
