Pubs For Forest

by McClearyChops » 18 Aug 2014 21:28

Anyone got any good recommendations for pubs close to the station/ground?

Is it true Notts County open a pub there for away fans?

Forest Bar on Saturday

by NottsCountyFCEvents » 20 Aug 2014 14:38

Hi all, would like to invite you to the Meadow Lane Sports Bar at Notts County FC
It is open for away fans only this Saturday, 10:30 - 3pm, 5-10 minute walk from the Forest ground, with a great bar facility, great food and large screen TV's. Hope to see you all in there.

Ever hopeful Green, ever hopeful. Don't like the sound of 'Sports Bar.' Could be lager only.

I went in there the year we won 4-3 (April 2011?).

Very friendly, attractive bar staff (one German bint in particular), but cannot remember the beer they had on. Over halfway from station to the City Ground.

Recommend the pub 100m in front of the station, bit to the left. It is also a brewery iirc.

It's where most away fans congreg8. Slow service when crowded, mind. Met loads of nobbers there, none at Notts ground.

edit quote fail, soz

The Vat & Fiddle was the pub you met Nobbers Lux. Been there a few times before that game, wasn't a problem getting served. Hopefully just a one off...

I believe you went in here a couple of times as well.

Used to be easy parking, decent food and real ales. I can recall it was a bit smoky when you and WR lit up together.

Currently we have two local real ales on which are Harvest Pale and sheriffs tipple.
We also offer Tetley and Guinness as well as a variety of lagers and cider.
Any other questions, please feel free

I wouldn't expect much of a turnout as it's the festival w/e.
