They did it for a bit last season too.
On Saturday, they let a young boy through and then had beef with his dad because he had a member card and couldn't prove where he sat or something....

Probably because it's hard to identify people from CCTV if they were sat in someone else's seat - if someone is sat in your seat making obscene gestures they might assume it's you and send you a ban in the post.... okay, bad example as it might well be you, but you see what I mean.Royal Lady What's wrong with that if they're empty though!

East End Lady The guy checking them in Y24 was telling me that it was something to do with the trouble at the Newport game and making sure people weren't going into Y26 that did not have tickets for seats there. He was as pissed off having to check as we were

If that's the reason, then they are wasting their time as anyone wanting to do this can simply enter via Y23 and walk across. It may seem a relatively minor thing but it seemed to be causing some beef between fans and stewards at the Ipswich game and it seems daft to hack off your own supporters unneccesarily.

SPARTA It isn't about trouble, not according to the two stewards we were chatting to. It's the same as last season - they're looking for fans that walk across and take seats that aren't theirs.
