LWJ Just the fact we sold 390 for Brighton but nearly 3000 in 2 hours for Arsenal! Why can't Reading fans turn out and support the team for less attractive games...

Is it because those games are less attractive?

Well that can't be right considering Newcastle took 7,000 to Fulham

LWJ Oxford United average more than us ffs:

Partly down to the fact they took 4,000 to MK the other week (with many Chelsea/Liverpool/United fans from Oxford going for the day out) and that they're in a new division for the 1st time in years.

Sure we will shoot up table after arsenal away too!

A lot of that would count as 'neutral'. I think official allocation is something like 2,800.

Massively incorrect stats there.

Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday take around 11,000 to every away game.

Neutral end doesn't count towards statistics. There official attendance was around what he said.

I'd go to more away games if we hadn't been in the same league for years.

I'd actually not be that unhappy if we went down as I'd get to see some new grounds. As it is I'm not shelling out the money and don't have the time to go to your Derbys, your Ipswichs, and your Barnsleys again and again.

It does cost quite a lot of money to travel to away games, if I'm only able to afford going to a couple I'm obviously going to choose Arsenal

And anyway, it's going to be a totally different experience to anything we've had the past few years (bar Wembley), so it's pretty difficult not to be excited by it

Obviously if they stick 3 or 4 past us early doors it'll be a bit crap but let's be honest if we were able to turn Arsenal over at the Emirates it would be one of the more memorable nights in our club's recent history, who's not going to want to be there for that?

Tbh. Looking forward to QPR away more.

i) The atmosphere in the away end against Arsenal is likely to be terrible for 5,300;
ii) We will probably get hammered.

Paid for a seat so I'll probably use it.

I hear they're quite comfy, nice legroom, decent view

Or you could stand, sing and get involved with the atmosphere as opposed to sitting on your hands

For the fan who likes to go to away games within a reasonable distance, it's kind of slim pickings this year.

Brentford, Fulham, QPR, Bristol City... that's about it?

Fulham, Bristol and Brentford I'd be up for, but can't justify weeknights, and once you get out of the loop of regular attendance you just stop checking the fixture list and have something else on on a saturday.

I've always found QPR away disappointing, we never seem to do well and the atmosphere always seems flat compared to what it should be.

Looking at the Championship list, there's a good selection of northern and midlands teams, not much near us so really the table just shows that. The only exception to that is Brighton so fair play to them, even if they are horrible tossers.
