Shouldn't this be in Club Policies?

SymonsO I'm a bit dissapointed they're not going to stagger the sales with member points.

I think accumulating a large number should offer some benefits over standard member card holders who may not attend games or attend the odd one or two.

They also want to allow enough time to sell them all though! If we'd finished the job at the first time of asking they probably would have staged the points.

Tickets go on sale to ALL Member card holders on Tuesday 2nd March and at that point all ST holder seats yet to be purchased will no longer be guaranteed

Is there any specific reason why the ticket prices have gone up? Is it just for the "privilege" of seeing an FA Cup Quarter Final or is it the minimum price for the QF in the FA rules I saw someone post on here a while ago? Or something to do with Villa wanting to charge more if it goes to a replay? Or... something? Obviously for STs it is less than a league game but a fiver more than the previous cup games and for non-STs it is more than a league game.

Basic economics, surely - charge as much as you can reasonably get away with.

TBH it's a very fair price considering that Halley's comet comes round more often!

I quite like it that it's going to be going on general sale sooner. Means people who pick and choose which games they attend are guaranteed a ticket.

Still means that it's easy for an Aston Villa fan living in Reading to sign up to a member card and buy a ticket in the home stand.

Surely somebody who has never been a STH but still has managed to rack up 300-500 points should have priority over that fan.

Unlikely as in the previous 2 cup games the TO would not issue new membercards IIRC.

Also even the Liverpool game went on general sale so 2 points would have got a ticket then.

Would it be a massive issue if some Villa fans did get tickets in the home end?? Revenue for the Club, potentially empty seats filled etc. I don't see what the issue is.

Will Villa even sell out with the Carling Cup Final just days away?

It does depend on the demand. A Reading fan should have priority over any Villa fan in this situation.

Season ticket holders need to be given sufficient time to claim their seats hence why they have until end of Monday. After that, there simply isn't enough time to stagger the ticket sales based on member points.

If they were to put tickets on general sale only at the last minute then this will significantly reduce the attendance and also create problems for the ticket office in the last minute rush.

At any match, there will always be away supporters in the home ends - usually accompanying friends/relatives who are home supporters. This doesn't normally create any problem but if there was any, then the home supporter who invited them would be held responsible. Also, you're only likely to have one or two people in this situation.

If away fans can openly purchase tickets into the home end then trouble could occur if a group of them got in and sat together.
