The problem with a lot of these co-commentator people is that they are usually far too critical of everything that happens on the pitch. It's no fun being moaned at for 2 hours by the likes of Bright and Coleman. Beglin's been better during the WC and McCarthy seems to enjoy himself.

It's why I like Pleat - it's like watching football with your Grandad wittering on; he has a very welcoming style.

Lawrenson is just beyond awful, the worst very combination of moaning, sarcastic banality.

Big Foot McCarthy, brilliant and a bonus point for contradicting everything he says with his Wolves tactics.

and his cunning dusguise of route one football as back to front football.

Dave the rave Has it been mentioned about the tokenism shown by both channels by plonking a black bloke in the middle of the summarisers?
Just cos it's in SA.

See the latest Private Eye for an article on this.

Glad SA are out so I don't have to listen to commentators trying to be trendy by saying Bafana Bafana every 20 seconds. It's like your grandad trying to speak like Dizzee Rascal.

I've voted Mark Bright - always liked him tbf.

Lawrenson makes some terrible "jokes".

McCarthy is all right I suppose.

Adebayor went back home as his wife had a baby girl while he was out there. HTH.

I don't mind Bright, was a great fan of Earle as a commentator, and voted for Coleman in this poll (his only vote).

Lux: Not with the herd.

except we all agree Townsend =ITV= everything that is bad in the world.

/no hyperbole.

I thought Bright was good in the France / Mexico match, where he was incredulous that France had played worse in their preceding game. I will add a word of support regarding Lawrenson as well, obvly he's a complete and utter fucking toolhead but he spent large chunks of the England / Slovenia game trying to counteract Guy Mowbray's repulsive crowing about England winning the match / gROFLoup.

Anyway, Pleat from that list.

Close between Mark Bright and Mick McCarthy for me. There's just something about Mick's voice and depressed witterings that I find endlessly entertaining.

Lawrenson just sounds bitter that he isn't earning the pundit bucks whenever he commentates. And he talks the most unbelievable bilge as well.
