Terminal Boardom Anyone remember Joe Allon?

I remember that big toothed pcunt scoring and giving it the big un when he scored at griffin park right in front of us. I think it was the year we won Div 2 under McGhee. (Lost 1-0?)

Ugly pcunt!!

The goal they scored today confused me. The penalty hits both posts, bounces out and the pen taker knocks in the rebound. Surely you can't do that without the keeper touching it?

Green
Jakarta Bee Hi all of you in your not quite new but still shiny stadium.

Much as all Bees fans love Giffin Park, the time has come for us to move on and we need help with our petition to support the new Lionel Road project and figh off the Nimbys of Chiswick / Kew / Strand on the Green and their "over my dead body" approach:

https://www.change.org/petitions/the-ma ... o_link&utm _medium=email&utm_source=share_petition

Just in case yu are worried, the drinking opportunities around the new stadium will be at least the equal of Griffin Park.

Please sign and pass on the word!

thanks!

Could you outline what the residents objections are, and why you feel they should be dismissed as nothing more than nimbyism :?:

according to this: https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/Si ... heme_Ref_/

This is a massive development of disproportionate size close to Conservation Areas and a World Heritage Site (Kew Gardens) that has been approved by the Local Hounslow Council but without any improvements to the rail and traffic infrastructure and without any consideration for the local community. A 20,000 seat football stadium with all year round use for sports concerts and events. Minimal parking. 12 tower blocks of over 17 storeys high are to be built on a restricted site resulting in a population density of 3 times the government guidelines. Have we forgotten what happened in the tower blocks of the 1960's? 910 flats and 160 room hotel with absolutely no affordable housing! The transport is inadequate and the size of the structure is completely disproportionate to the surrounding areas overshadowing what is a beautiful part of London. This is the thin end of the wedge. If this goes through then surely "anything goes".

Some of those objections are stupid.

For a start they imply the place is right next to Kew Gardens. Kew Gardens are on the other side of the river.

It is not in a beautiful part of London. It's in an industrial estate next to a flyover.

They also imply that the housing will be like the poorly built sink estate flats of the 60s, with no reason to believe that.

There's also the claim that the transport infrastructure won't cope, as if having the current Griffin Park stretches both to capacity.

Green Second "Location Bee" registered on this portal I believe. Whatever happened to Twyford Bee :?:

To my knowledge though the first "Jakarta ClubNickname" registrant though. In fact the first person we've had from Indonesia, I believe.

LUX will it be easier to get to from Jakarta :?:

The location does make the accusation of nimbyism seem rather disingenuous, doesn't it?

The ref must of thought that the keeper must have saved it and touched it onto the right hand post, but from what I could see he was close but didn't.
