Embargoed league clubs 2016

Blackburn, Leeds and Nottingham Forest handed transfer embargoes

Blackburn, Leeds and Nottingham Forest have been given transfer embargoes for the rest of the season for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

The Championship trio have been handed the bans for not meeting the Football League's Fair Play Requirement.

Under existing rules, clubs were permitted to lose no more than £3m a season, with a maximum of £5m of shareholder investment in 2013-14.

The clubs will have the opportunity to have the embargoes lifted in June.

To do so, they will need to prove they have stayed within an operating loss of no more than £3m, with a maximum of £3m of shareholder investment for the 2014-15 season.

Blackburn managing director Derek Shaw said: "Whilst the ruling will clearly present some difficulties, we will of course respect the rules of the Football League.

And

Bournemouth have been informed that they will be fined for a breach of the Football League's Financial Fair Play rules. According to the Football League's official website, in gaining promotion to the Premier League during the 2014-15 campaign, the Cherries exceeded the maximum permitted deviation of £6m.

However, they will only be hit with a financial punishment, rather than a transfer embargo. "Champions AFC Bournemouth will face a financial sanction to be finalised in due course," read a Football League statement.

Meanwhile, a statement on Bournemouth's official website added: "AFC Bournemouth is fully aware of the Football League's proposed financial sanction relating to Financial Fair Play and is currently engaged in positive dialogue with the Football League to reach a satisfactory outcome. "The club will update supporters when an outcome has been reached and will not be making any further comment at this moment in time." Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Millwall have also been hit with similar punishments.

So just how the **** have QPR avoided any form of embargo or punishment from the football league (yet again)?

And Bolton shouldn't be far behind that lot either.

I don't think Bolton have submitted accounts. Not that it makes much difference at the moment as they haven't got anything to spend with and probably like Millwall the league will decide they haven't gained any advantage from the breach.

To answer your QPR question , the 14-15 season under discussion they were in the premier league so not liable. I think negotiations are still ongoing (as per Bournemouth) as to their 13-14 overspend.

Yeh OP has put last years and this years together on the same post. Fulham are mentioned on the latest one.

What's interesting is that Forest have breached it for a second successive season so you'd have thought there would be a tougher sanction for that.

FWIW 15-16's regulations have been relaxed a bit giving owners more leeway.

In view of our selling Blackman to Derby for a deal reported be worth close to £4m including add-ons - and given the cash that has been splashed around at Derby in the last few seasons - just how close are they to being embargoed and maybe even hitting a financial meltdown?

Think they could be heading for serious problems if they don;t go up this season.

Presumably these embargoes are the same wishy washy things that don't actually stop the club's bringing in players ?
