Winston Biscuit Roma's amazing run continues. Since 22nd December they have taken 33 points from the last possible 39. my short research suggests they have picked up the most points of any team in the top 5 leagues in that time frame (PSG have picked up 30 points from a possible 32 though)

Juventus up next and then Lazio after that for them

Is it still 2 points for a win in France? Presuming it to be 3 points and not 2 then PSG’s ppg is about 2.7 pts a game whereas Roma is “only” around 2.5 pts.

Real Betis pulled a crowd of 31,500 at the Benito Villamarin last Saturday - for a TRAINING session. Followed that on Sunday with a record crowd of 58,538 for the Seville derby, where they beat their deadly city rivals 2-1.

that is THE game I want to experience in Spain. I've heard numerous euro journalists say that its by far the biggest and best derby in the country (they kind of write off the Classico as more of a glamour rivalry, as opposed to some hard fought derby match)

I remember watching the 5-3 result between them a few years back and it looked absolutely nuts

Was in Seville last year and I very much got the impression that Betis were THE team of the city: plenty of green & white shirts around, but no Sevilla.

3rd div Arminia Bielefeld beat Leverkusen in the semi's to reach the German cup final.

Leverkusen are the 4th Bundesliga club they have faced in the cup this season, having already knocked out Union Berlin, Freiburg & Werder Bremen

Awesome stuff. Wonder what happened to them? They were in the Bundesliga only three years ago - but struggled to 14th in the third tier last season after two relegations. 4th this time around.

Barcelona are into the cup final, are top of the league by 3 points with better H2H for now (and v likely for the season) and have Dortmund in the QF of the CL

I wonder if a treble could be on...

Happens a surprising amount over here that a club gets to the top flight unexpectedly or ahead of schedule, can't quite bridge the gap and end up dropping 2 tiers before stabalising and returning to the 2nd tier.

Paderborn are kings of it.

Sampdoria into the Serie B relegation zone with 7 games left to go.

Reportedly trying to get Andrea Pirlo back in as manager, who was the first of their 3 managers this season

Real Madrid 1-2 Valencia

Amazing result for Valencia. They looked likely to be relegated not long ago. Brought in former Hudds and West Brom manager Carlos Corberan and have since won 8 of the 16 games he has managed (losing just 4)

How much first XI did Madrid not risk before Arsenal?

anything other than a win against Almeria on Sunday, and mine and El Franchiso's boys, FC Cartagena, will be relegated down to the 3rd tier.

With 12 of the 23 man squad on loan to them, and 8 of the others having contracts expiring in the summer, as it stands they have just 3 players contracted to be with them next season as they drop into the world of regional football.

Liam Rosenior's Strasbourg continue their brilliant run with another win at the weekend and are now up in 4th place, 1 point off a Champions League spot and just 3 points behind Marseille in 2nd place

Ooh, Champions League football or away to Oxford?

Tricky decision, that one.
