Score a winner in the 10th minute of injury time at Newport only to have it ruled out for handball. Replay shows that the goal scorer reached a cross at the far post and punched the ball onto his own head and in when it would have been easier to just head it.

Sorry, Vale also promoted as Bradford can no longer catch them. Well done to all involved x

Pleased for Port vale. A decent bunch of fans and a good club and absolutely nothing like those ghastly Stoke City cnuts.

I’m probably in a minority here, but well done Wrexham. I have no beef with their spending and think all this Hollywood fc is unfair. They have had big pressure from day one to get promoted and they’ve done it. Pleased for them, pleased for parky.

I think Preston will be the 3rd team to go down.

Sheff Utd likely to finish on 92 pts. Will that be a record high for not finishing in the top 2?

Not sure, but one of Burnley or Leeds could end the season with 100 points and not be Champions.

Final day at the bottom will be interesting to see who joins Cardiff and Plymouth (barring a 14 goal swing).

Preston are a good shout to drop as they go to Bristol City but I honestly don't see Hull picking up anything at Pompey and dropping down.

Hull are the 8th best away team in the Championship this season (in case that adds anything to anyone's thinking)

Things still to be decided in the EFL on the final day

Championship

Play-offs

Bristol City could secure a play-off spot with a win at Leeds tonight, which is unlikely so 5 teams will battle it out to join Sheff Utd and Sunderland in the play-offs.

Assuming a Bristol defeat the table will look like this (if they win then 4 teams battle for 1 spot)

5. Bristol City 67pts
6. Coventry 66pts
7. Millwall 66pts
8. Blackburn 65pts
9. Middlesboro' 64pts

Fixtures

Bristol City v Preston
Coventry v Boro
Burnley v Millwall
Sheff Utd v Blackburn

Based on those fixtures, you would say Bristol will take 5th and Cov v Boro is a straight shoot-out for 6th - don't see either of Millwall or Blackburn picking up points.

Relegation

Realistically 5 sides battle to avoid the last relegaton slot (Plymouth will need a miracle win at home to Leeds)

Table

18. Stoke 50pts
19. Derby 49pts
20. PNE 49pts
21. Luton 49pts
22. Hull 48pts

Fixtures

Derby v Stoke
Bristol City v PNE
WBA v Luton
Pompey v Hull

Derby and Stoke facing off both knowing a win saves them. Luton on a great run, so a win at WBA on the cards, PNE will struggle to get anything at Bristol esp if they need a win.

Will be either Preston or Hull with my money on the latter, though a draw at Pompey will be enough if Preston lose at Ashton Gate.

League 1

A Burton point in midweek will officially relegate both Crawley and Bristol Rovers but realistically due to GD both clubs are already down.

So the one real interest left is who out of Orient and us nick the final play-off spot. With Wycombe hosting Stockport & Charlton facing Burton the order of the teams in the play-offs may change though with Wycombe at risk of going from challenging for autos to finishing 5th.

League 2

Either Doncaster or Vale will end the final day as Champions - Donny have a 1pt lead and a GD that is +2 better & scored 6 more goals. Realistically Vale will need to win and hope Donny don't - or a draw and a 3 goal defeat for Donny.

Notts County v Doncaster
Port Vale v Gillingham

Bradford, Walsall and Notts County all have a chance to take the final promotion spot. None are in good form but WalsaLOL are having a total knightmare second half to the season.

Bradford v Fleetwood
Crewe v Walsall
Notts County v Doncaster

The 2 sides who miss out on auto, are guaranteed a Play-off spot - the other 2 spots are up for grabs with 5 teams in the mix

6. Wimbledon 70pts
7. Salford 68pts
8. Grimsby 68pts
9. Chesterfield 67pts
10. Colchester 66pts

Grimsby v Wimbledon
Carlisle v Salford
Colchester v Barrow

Wimbledon just need a point at Grimsby to guarantee a spot, whilst a home win the Mariners will see them leapfrog them.

Salford travel to relegated Carlisle, needing a win to be sure, though defeats for the 3 sides below them would also be enough. Chesterfield and Colchester both need to win and hope results go their way - although a draw could be enough for Chesterfield as a result of their GD.

So what happens if Preston get relegated and Bristol City get promoted? Does The Championship hibernate for a year?

This would be more catastrophic for football than poxy Reading getting kicked out of the league.

Coventry could get promoted and Preston could get relegated, with Coventry losing more games.

Yes. Last season Leeds became the third team to score exactly 90 points in the Championship and not go up automatically. So with a win on the final day, Sheffield United will set a new record tally for a play-off side.

They were deducted two points too, right? So likely to be 94pts technically
