Wirtz to Liverpool appears to be done, new record of around £120m. Just medical to go now. Be a laugh if he failed it after all that.

Winston Biscuit lots of rumours of Man Utd going after Bryan Mbuemo. I like that. feels like the kind of signing that would do them good.

Spoke with a Brentford fan yesterday who laughed and said its weird that everyone outside the club suddenly thinks he is great, because their fans dont rate him all that highly and would happily see him sold if the reported transfer fee of £50-£60M was real.

A “flatter to deceive” player, that should maintain the standards Utd have striven hard to achieve in recent years.

Rayan Cherki to City for £34m, which looks like a bargain.

he has been under the watchful eye of the European Leagues Thread since 2021. Nice to see 'one of our own' make the move.

Ronaldo now believed to signing another contract at al-Nassr rather then moving elsewhere. They've apparently paid him the equivalent of £420 million so far over 2.5 years there. mental.

He had a very nice cameo against Spain last week. Only on the pitch for 25 mins and got a (cracking) goal and an assist.

Whilst not a transfer as such (as it is a player leaving a side rather than joining one) but I thought it was worth a mention.

Scott Carson will leave Manchester City this Summer at the end of his contract.

He has been at the club for 6 Years, 2 of them initially on loan from Derby, joining permanently on a free transfer at the end of the 2020/21 season.

During his time at City, he has played for a grand total of 117 minutes, and only featured in 2 games - v. Newcastle whilst on loan in May 2021 (where he saved a penalty), and as a late substitute against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions league in March 2022.

He hasn't played a single minute of competitive football in over 3 Years.

Yet he leaves having won 11 trophies on his footballing CV; or a trophy every 638 SECONDS of playing time...........

Such is the modern game.

Don't you have to play a set amount of games to get a medal? Or does that not apply to GKs?

my understanding having read a thing the other day about a player (Chiesa?) who was close to not getting one, was that in the modern world there are rules on who qualifies and so is allocated one by the PL & UEFA, but then each club is also given an additional number as standard, with the idea being that the club gets to choose who else gets one, and these usually go to anyone who has played any minutes at all and then backroom staff. It also said its not unusual for clubs to get their own extra's made too.

Third choice keeper increasingly a coaching and vibes role. The obvious joke would be that he does a good bingo.

I think he won't necessarily get a medal for cup finals he wasn't on the bench for but that's still something like 6 trophies.

The four Tottenham keepers all went up and nabbed a Europa League final medal, leaving Son who was last in the line without.

No money in the transfer kitty for West Ham as Kurt Zouma leaves on a free.
