Sanguine Winston Biscuit Sanguine Ornstein
heard him speak the other day on a podcast. It was almost impressive how he managed to speak for what must have been around 5 minutes without actually really saying anything of note at all. Its the exact same thing politicians are trained to do. just keep talking and talking and talking, without saying anything of any interest at all, making loads of references to other things that make it sound like they tie in to the story, even though they clearly don't, and then overly stress certain words and points to make it sound like that is a really crucial part of this and that you are having to point this out because its so important, even though it isn't. Its honestly a really weird thing to do, and I don't think its natural either. I suspect he has had some coaching on it at some point.
Have to remember that Ornstein represents The Athletic - his reputation matters a lot more than an independent like Romano, who can take a direct line into an agent and post it with a high likelihood its right, but with little matter if it isn't (e.g. Romano called Caicedo to Liverpool before that didn't happen at all).
Ornstein has good sources but is ultimately just reporting things that have happened. He's done remarkably well to build the profile that he has, regular on SSN etc.
yeah he is definately going at it from a smooth presenter style rather than your oddball Romano style
When I listened to him he was talking about Wirtz to Liverpool and he was just going on about basic stuff that wasn't relevant to any of it really, or was obvious stuff that always happens, or even things he clearly wouldn't know, but it was obvious he was just trying to stay talking for as long as possible.
He would waffle about how the deal was being done, filling time with comments around how Liverpool would have done their homework, then would suddenly stress some weird detail loudly to make it sound incredibly important, even though it just wasn't
'and of course I know from the people I speak to on the inside, that Liverpool have really done their homework on Wirtz, they've watched him, they've analysed him, and they've decided he is a good fit for them, not only the squad, but actually straight into their first team!......
AND ITS REALLY IMPORTANT TO STRESS ON THIS, THAT WE SHOULDN'T FORGET ARNE SLOT IS ONLY 1 YEAR INTO HIS TENURE AT LIVERPOOL, SO WILL REALLY WANT TO BRING IN PLAYERS THAT HE THINKS CAN BE SUCCESSFUL....while conversations are ongoing, i can reveal that the basic transfer fee is being discussed between the clubs, while at the same time they also discuss any add ons to come further down the line.....'
