Royal With Cheese
Big Foot
Royal With Cheese I also thought the Liverpool West Ham final was pretty special in 2005 and had plenty of upsets along the way.

H8 to be a pedantic kant but it was 2006, m8.

Typo.

Shit happens etc....

For sure - I felt like a Team Boarder pulling you up on it tbf tbh

Maguire FA Cup finals are almost always poor games. Going back over the last 25 years from memory I would say the following were good games:

1989
1990
2001
2006

More often than not they're dour affairs and the losing side doesn't trouble the scorers.

Good list.

Going back at bit I'd add 1977, 1981 and 1987 to those.

1979, when Arsenal blew a 2-0 lead in the last three mins only to then get an even later winner was a tremendous finish ( no really) but the preceding 87 minutes was an utterly dull one-sided stroll.

I suspect that if City had scabbed a lucky last minute winner instead of Wigs we'd have derided this year's final as another DAF one

IIRC the 86 final was also good. The 2 best teams, Everton 1-0 up at half time, and Liverpool's third only coming late on.

At school (I was 8 ) the following week we had to make a book. Mine ended up being drawings of the FA Cup final and I called it 'Craig Johnston Scores Again', we then had them laminated and took them home. I remember this well as my mum found it recently and I was understandably mocked for it. I also have memories of Craig Johnston becoming my hero for a couple of weeks after the FA Cup final and one of my brothers argued with me telling me he was rubbish, in particular he kept saying the ball was going in anyway and Johnston had effectively stolen the goal from one of his team mates.
