Mr Angry Whilst not a transfer as such (as it is a player leaving a side rather than joining one) but I thought it was worth a mention.

Scott Carson will leave Manchester City this Summer at the end of his contract.

He has been at the club for 6 Years, 2 of them initially on loan from Derby, joining permanently on a free transfer at the end of the 2020/21 season.

During his time at City, he has played for a grand total of 117 minutes, and only featured in 2 games - v. Newcastle whilst on loan in May 2021 (where he saved a penalty), and as a late substitute against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions league in March 2022.

He hasn't played a single minute of competitive football in over 3 Years.

Yet he leaves having won 11 trophies on his footballing CV; or a trophy every 638 SECONDS of playing time...........

Such is the modern game.

Third choice keeper increasingly a coaching and vibes role. The obvious joke would be that he does a good bingo.

I think he won't necessarily get a medal for cup finals he wasn't on the bench for but that's still something like 6 trophies.

He was only signed to fulfill their domestic player quota.

Nice job if you can get it.

Not to mention the CL and Super Cup he won while at Liverpool.

Fabrizio Romano confirms the Wirtz deal, although Ornstein says there's a bit to do. But it'll happen.

Romano also says 'Kerkez is next'.

With Frimpong and Kerkez at full-back, Liverpool's team is going to be bombing down the wings like no team since the days of Robinson and Murty overlapping our wide players.

heard him speak the other day on a podcast. It was almost impressive how he managed to speak for what must have been around 5 minutes without actually really saying anything of note at all. Its the exact same thing politicians are trained to do. just keep talking and talking and talking, without saying anything of any interest at all, making loads of references to other things that make it sound like they tie in to the story, even though they clearly don't, and then overly stress certain words and points to make it sound like that is a really crucial part of this and that you are having to point this out because its so important, even though it isn't. Its honestly a really weird thing to do, and I don't think its natural either. I suspect he has had some coaching on it at some point.

Have to remember that Ornstein represents The Athletic - his reputation matters a lot more than an independent like Romano, who can take a direct line into an agent and post it with a high likelihood its right, but with little matter if it isn't (e.g. Romano called Caicedo to Liverpool before that didn't happen at all).

Ornstein has good sources but is ultimately just reporting things that have happened. He's done remarkably well to build the profile that he has, regular on SSN etc.

yeah he is definately going at it from a smooth presenter style rather than your oddball Romano style

When I listened to him he was talking about Wirtz to Liverpool and he was just going on about basic stuff that wasn't relevant to any of it really, or was obvious stuff that always happens, or even things he clearly wouldn't know, but it was obvious he was just trying to stay talking for as long as possible.

He would waffle about how the deal was being done, filling time with comments around how Liverpool would have done their homework, then would suddenly stress some weird detail loudly to make it sound incredibly important, even though it just wasn't

'and of course I know from the people I speak to on the inside, that Liverpool have really done their homework on Wirtz, they've watched him, they've analysed him, and they've decided he is a good fit for them, not only the squad, but actually straight into their first team!......AND ITS REALLY IMPORTANT TO STRESS ON THIS, THAT WE SHOULDN'T FORGET ARNE SLOT IS ONLY 1 YEAR INTO HIS TENURE AT LIVERPOOL, SO WILL REALLY WANT TO BRING IN PLAYERS THAT HE THINKS CAN BE SUCCESSFUL....while conversations are ongoing, i can reveal that the basic transfer fee is being discussed between the clubs, while at the same time they also discuss any add ons to come further down the line.....'

It’s all just boring twatwaffle. What is of interest to fans is that so and so will be signed by such and such after that it’s just tedious filler until a deal is done. These are ITK reporters who have the contacts to be able to come up with the initial news of interest then just blarney on about the bleedin’ obvious as if it’s unknown territory. And cr@pola like Sky need a lot of filler for their programming so these reporters are forced to self fulfil their prophecies which they do very well and can get a career out of, so good luck to them.

What sort of numbers is Wirtz gonna have to put up to be considered successful? With a 150M price tag it's gotta be high!

Something like this, which is his 24/25 season vs. Lamine Yamal, and puts him in the same ballpark.

Liverpool will want him to create - only Yamal and Salah created more chances last season. Given Wirtz's assets, I'm interested if Liverpool try to sign a 'proper' striker (notionally to replace Nunez, albeit of course as an upgrade on him). Someone like a Gyokeres would score a million goals playing off Wirtz.

They've signed another one from Chelsea to replace him.

Leroy Sane joins Galatasaray on a free

29 years old, a regular player for Bayern and the German national team. goes to galatasaray on reportedly €300k a week after tax.

The unofficial story is :

He ran his contract down, was in talks with some Saudi clubs, Bayern offer him an improved deal and he verbally agreed to stay but some detail of the new deal was still to be worked out, when the official offer comes through from Bayern its not what Sane thought it would be (he was reportedly demanding a CWC participation bonus), he tells Bayern he is not happy with it and wants more and will start talking to other clubs again to see what else is on offer, Bayern tell him to get to f*ck and cut off all talks with him, Bayern contact Atthletic Bilbao to ask about Nico Williams, who is better than Sane.

Presuming you don’t spend that sort of money on a player for your academy, I presume Pedro must be going then :?

Just been watching some of his YouTube shizzle and he does look good but at 130M I think he has to be prem PotS or it's a bit of a flop.

No doubt Salah will bag another 40 goals and make the rest of the team look fcuking mint! Genuinely, one of the best prem players ever!

Next up for the ‘pool is sorting the striker saga, getting rid of Nunez then allegedly going for one of Isak (if his contract (re)negotiations with Eddie break down), Ekitike, Pedro or Wolemade.

Have to say that Trent saying leaving Liverpool was the hardest decision of his life, and then speaking fluent Spanish at the presser before stating (and correcting, pointlessly) that he has 'had to wait a long time' to join Real, is shithousery of the highest order.

Well he has had 2 years to learn the language since Bellendingham joined Real and told him to run his contract down so the two besties could be besties 7 days a week. And as long as England benefit who, outside of the western end of the Mersey, cares?

An oddly sharp response!

Let's see how Trent fits at Real.
