Not been to New Wemblers but saw England beat Moldova in WC'98 quals in Sept '97 and also for what I believe is Swansea's last play-off final, when they lost to a late and controversial Northampton Town free kick.

I agree with NFA - and have been on several England away trips. Celebrating a Reading goal is miles better than celebrating an England goal.

Done Wembley just the once for football - England vs Germany August 2007. Lost 3-2, I was in highest tier and can remember naff all of the game as was absolutely butchered

PEARCEY I thought Swansea were very fortunate last night. Over the two legs Forest had 3 strong penalty claims. Not sure what the point of giving pens for handball's all about if you don't give them for the Tate and Ashley Williams handballs over the two legs.
Don't get me wrong swansea jack I wanted your lot to win but they were very lucky.
I hate Billy Davies but fair play to him last night he took it on the chin when he had every reason to feel a bit cheated.

Tate's handball was a pen but looks like one of our players was in the ref's line of sight.

Williams' handball was never a pen. Blasted at him from all of 37cms with no way of even avoiding it - I have a real issue with these types of penalties unless they're definitely going in and that didn't even look on target.

Not sure where you've got the 3rd claim from...if it's for the tackle by Monk & Britton on Boyd(?) then that is laughable.

If you can beat a team with 10 men for 90+mins at home then you don't deserve to win. They need some new strikers or need to play Earnshaw from the start.

Not sure luck had anything to do with the Britton and Dobbie goals. Great finishes and an awesome nuts.

Didn't see your game but glad you stuffed them. See you in west London, or NW London, or WNW London or wherever. Think it could well be a classic...

Last play-off final at Wem-ber-ley. Lost to Barnsley at the Millennium. Was at both. Can't make it this time. Hopefully I'm a jinx

Like us, Swansea have lost in two play-off finals, 97 and vs Barnsley in 06 as has been discussed. However, they also won the 2 x 2 legged affair in 1987/88, so therefore it is our turn, Jacks. Stand down.

Yep, that's it. '97.

As well as that, me & step-dad did a ridiculous Reading-Wembley-South Wales-Reading run on the morning of that year's FA Cup final - he wanted to take match day programmes to his Liverpool-supporting nephews in New Tredegar. Left about 8, back at around 2, having stopped for bacon sarnies in NT too.

In the second leg Tate was clearly pulling the shirt of the Forest player outside the box but it continued inside the box as well. Definite pen for me although I accept Ashley Williams handball would have been harsh.
Looking forward to the final and if we do it I will be delighted and if Swansea win I will wish you all the best next season and hope you do well.

IMHO, last night was the best football match I've seen on my telly all season. It had everything.

If they go up will that be their 3rd season in Tier 2? If so they'll have problems with the standing end - unless there are definite plans for the new stadium. Any ideas if this has progressed?
