Allardyce is one of the most over-rated managers around and it's only his mates in the media that make people think otherwise, just because the new owners don't know anything about football it doesn't mean they can't see this

What about the results he had at Bolton and Blackburn then? Do the media make them up too?

Did ok at County from what I remember too.

People might not like the style that he plays but his record has been reasonable in all of his jobs.
He is obviously a good organiser and he could well be on his way to West Ham where for a while they would happily accept a lack of style if they don't get relegated.

Yeh, I don't agree with that at all. Anyone who can take Bolton into Europe can be considered a good manager.

I'd be delighted if I was a Blackburn fan.

Still LOL'ing at Chris Samba playing a load of games up front last year.

Jonathan Wilson reporting that the new board suggested signing Geovani and Kris Boyd, among others, which Allardyce refused to do.

Quite rightly. Allardyce is better off out of there if the new owners are intering with team affairs. With nonsense like that and small budgets to improve the squad, Blackburn wont be in the top flight for too much longer.

He did OK up front though, in particular with being the target man Allardyce likes. Blackburn had a lot of injuries up front at the time, so I can't see what was funny about Samba filling in.

Are Blackburn really going to find a better manager than Allardyce who can produce reasonable Premiership finishes on limited funds? I don't think so.

Especially given that this is the Geovanni currently failing to achieve much of any note in the MLS, and the discerning Vatican fan's favourite flat-track bully Kris Boyd.

So you don't like him then?

No excuse for talking bollocks mind.

After 8 years at Bolton, 6 of which were spent in the Premier League, to have achieved a 41% win ratio, and 4 consecutive season finishes in the Top 10 is a bloody terrific record.

Don't get me wrong, Allardyce is a very effective manager, and Samba did a job up front, but the style of football they played was horrific.

The Mirror suggested that the new owners were keen on installing a solid professional manager, with a track record of success, and a deep knowledge of the Premier League as the new Manager.

In other words, Diego Maradona!!!!!

:o :o :o

Spoke to an unhappy 'ammers fan today; he said his only hope is that Blackburn implode this season rather than next! (I pointed out that they still needed to find 2 other teams even worse than west Ham; he went quiet at that!!). He did say that he wouldn't mind Grant getting the bullet and Big Sam taking over at the Boleyn though......

Sky Sports echo that, but also claim they want Blackburn in the top five asap and want that experienced, successful manager, preferably with premier league experience and british to lead them there. Quite how they think they'll achieve that by giving their manager a John Madejski style premiership budget I don't know, and the link to Maradona is simply ridiculous.

Didn't they say the £5m was to be including wages? That's probably less than we spent each season if that's the case.

Seol - £1.5m, Duberry - £800k, Halford - £2.5m = £4.8m

Fae - £2.5m, Cisse - £600k, Bikey - £1m, Rosenior - £1m swap deal?, Marek - £1.4m, Kebe - £400k? = ~£6m+

we bought some overpriced shit didn't we...

The new versions are a bit too complicated and I do get fed up reading posts like "player x is brilliant on FM!" as if that did have any relevance to real life.

I am sat here thinking we got all that back, and still have Kebe to sell to some mug team.
