Bandini Even now?
He's looked best in the past when he's had teams built round him, but I don't think he's really a good enough player to merit that at the best clubs. What good European sides would want him losing possession all the time, or risk him not being in the right position when an attack breaks down?
Pretty much this.
He's certainly on the wane, but I'm sure he'll still have plenty to offer in the same way as Giggs, Scholes, Speed, Rob Lee, McAllister and the like did as they adapted their games as they grew older.
Gerrard is still a swashbuckling player but seems to be back to picking up mroe injuries again, and I don't think Liverpool can afford to build the team around him like they could a couple of years ago. I think Hodgson was trying to make that change by moving Gerrard back into a more conventional midfield role but it didn't workout at the time. With Suarez and Carroll leading the attack it might be a better time to do it under Dalglish next season.
Gerrard will still be a matchwinner for a few seasons more though, he's too good a player not to be, but maybe it won't be on such a consistent basis.
