Wizard No thanks. They should ban all alcohol from football grounds IMO.

wally bassoon Will not happen unless it increases a clubs revenue, so it would need to be sold during the game as well, otherwise there is nothing in it for the clubs.
Would also spoil my attempt for a three pint half time each match.

soggy biscuit If I was one of these insanely rich owners I would do all i can to make the match day experience good for the supporters. Huge variety of quality food and drink would be standard. The cost would be minimal compared to a weeks wages I would pay to some foreign mercenary

floyd__streete OUT. Want a beer? Stay in the concourse or in the pub.
That said, IN for beer snakes. Would improve the entertainment value at the Madj no end.

Of course there'd be more revenue. You can sell an awful lot of beer in 5 minutes, and I for one won't buy a pint 5 minutes before the match starts. The only problem with selling beer during Rugby matches is the bloke middle of a row constantly getting up for another one. Limit it to a specific area and you'll keep the families happy whilst also selling much more beer.

I can just see the stewards going radio rental when some huge 10 yard beer snake appears. last decent one I saw was at the MCG on Boxing Day. massive thing it was then Plod moved in, had a quiet word and that was that. Seeing some big bloke trudge off to the bins with a load of empties with a sheepish look on his face was worth the ticket price alone.
Now, the concept of beer free areas is not a new one. The MCG and other sports stadia in Melbourne have them. Sure, the capacities are larger than the Mad Stad but these areas are extremely popular with families. Also, the beer available is generally weaker than can be purchased in the numerous pubs and bars around town.

bobby1413 I'm actually against this.
Could you imagine 1000 fans stood with pints and suddenly theres a goal. You'd be covered in beer, and it'd go all over the floor. Fooook that. Just down it in 5 minutes - it's part of the whole experience.
