RG30 At Man City last month they had 5 different beers on tap inside the concourse and the Heineken was no worse than you would get in a pub

No thanks. They should ban all alcohol from football grounds IMO.

southbank1871 The Fosters at the Madejski is spectacularly shit though.

Exactly. I don't care either way as I don't really drink in the stadiums themselves, rather save my money for before and after the games and drink properly.

wally bassoon Will not happen unless it increases a clubs revenue, so it would need to be sold during the game as well, otherwise there is nothing in it for the clubs.

Would also spoil my attempt for a three pint half time each match.

Of course there'd be more revenue. You can sell an awful lot of beer in 5 minutes, and I for one won't buy a pint 5 minutes before the match starts. The only problem with selling beer during Rugby matches is the bloke middle of a row constantly getting up for another one. Limit it to a specific area and you'll keep the families happy whilst also selling much more beer.

If I was one of these insanely rich owners I would do all i can to make the match day experience good for the supporters. Huge variety of quality food and drink would be standard. The cost would be minimal compared to a weeks wages I would pay to some foreign mercenary

OUT. Want a beer? Stay in the concourse or in the pub.

That said, IN for beer snakes. Would improve the entertainment value at the Madj no end.

In fairness, I did have a good pint once at the Madejski. I still think about it from time to time.

I'm massively for this but it would most certainly increase the amount of people getting up and out of their seat to piss.

In order to watch Reading i have to consume at least 6 pints prematch and two pints at half time. As a result I need at least one piss per half and it annoys the fukk out of 8 people I have to stagger pass to get to the steps.

If had to put up with a twat like me because of than being lifted I would not be amused.

I can just see the stewards going radio rental when some huge 10 yard beer snake appears. last decent one I saw was at the MCG on Boxing Day. massive thing it was then Plod moved in, had a quiet word and that was that. Seeing some big bloke trudge off to the bins with a load of empties with a sheepish look on his face was worth the ticket price alone.

Now, the concept of beer free areas is not a new one. The MCG and other sports stadia in Melbourne have them. Sure, the capacities are larger than the Mad Stad but these areas are extremely popular with families. Also, the beer available is generally weaker than can be purchased in the numerous pubs and bars around town.

Go to all the effort and risk the wraith of Wizard, families etc for five minutes extra beer selling time = Unlikely

Go to all the effort and risk the wraith of Wizard, families etc for 90 minutes extra beer selling time = Different proposition.

bobby1413 I'm actually against this.

Could you imagine 1000 fans stood with pints and suddenly theres a goal. You'd be covered in beer, and it'd go all over the floor. Fooook that. Just down it in 5 minutes - it's part of the whole experience.

Try watching football on a terrace in Germany. I've literally never been covered in so much beer in my life.

Saw on tele the other day that Saracens' new ground is going to have a keypad for every seat, from which you can order food & beer to be delivered to your seat. As much as I hate rugby, IN for this.
