floyd__streete West Ham were always going to beat Peterborough.

What a load of toss floyd.

On paper West Ham have the best team in the league. Football is not played on paper.

Football is about luck and pressure as much as it about skill.

If it wasn't it would be no better then a game of top trumps.

Shame on you.

I was pretty pissed off about the result, a mate of mine is a Hammer and he gets a weekly email from Fat Sam. This weeks one was highlighting the importance of the Reading game to go second, whilst totally forgetting to mention that would only happen if they beat Posh. I was hoping they'd come a cropper.

MmmMonsterMunch Why bother supporting if you just find any reason to be miserable though?!

Even if we did lose on Sat, there are 6 more games & more twists & turns to come. Saturday does not in any way define the final league table. Lets face it...it's fate we need to beat Birmingham on the final day to seal auto.

Written in the stars!

May as well just enjoy the ride........

Some people are pessimistic by nature, others are optimistic.

No need to criticise others, just be glad you're lucky enough to be the latter!

Is it lucky to be the latter?
The optimist is constantly knocked back and depressed whereas the pessimist probably stays on an even keel and never gets really depressed because their expectations are so much lower.
Personally I regard myself (and others would agree)as an optimist but for most matters RFC I have spent much of my time, like Floyd and Avon,as a pessimist who has fairly low expectations of his club so as with last Saturday v Blackpool the RFC optimist would have expected a 3-1 win whereas we RFC pessimists were delighted with the result and were probably the happier on Saturday night.
Come early Tuesday evening the pessimist wasn't expecting West Ham to lose therefore the result had less effect possibly than experienced by the optimist.
It's not all bad being an RFC pessimist.
As for this Saturday I am expecting us to lose but..................................................

This stuff is so, so boring. Whither the gambling industry then, Floyd? I mean, I imagine there were prices offered last night? Knowing what they obviously didn't, did you clean up big time?

To counter 9 pages of optimistic excitement with tedious teen-fatalism is a laughable response.

Not true - a draw at Peterborough and beating us they'd have gone second anyway - albeit on goal difference

I certainly am.

We don't live in a world of certainties. All I want is for people who kid themselves that we do to put their money where their mouth is and feel the ensuing wallet-pain.

Is it wrong to hanker after that pleasure? Is it too much to ask?

You were clearly rattLOLed enough by this thread to actually put a long-ish comment on it rather than simply tutting loudly to yourself and ignoring it. If you post, you care.

I am rattled by the inherently gimp giddiness of those who get excited about other teams games in hand and sit watching teletext until their lower lip gets so pouty you could rest your tea mug on it.

The clue is in the title...if you "knew" it to be a "gimp-fest", why run with the herd?
