eh? Why not? Swansea loaned him when he had even longer on his contract! I'd take a loan from beginning of season to January if necessary - just to get us some points and a safe-ish position!
That's the point, I figure he's less likely to go on loan - certainly a season-long loan anyway - now than he was then because, with less than 2 years on his contract his value (all being equal) will start to depreciate now. By next summer Hoffenheim's position will be considerably weaker - if they don't think he'll resign for them then they'll be looking to sell this summer or in January.
