Eaststandman Apologies for the delay in responding, spent 4 hours driving home to Dorset (it usually takes 2) from the 'ding last night, snow, sleet, hail, rain, fog, flood, etc, it was biblical.
I conflated the two issues simply because the common denominator, the FA, who could feck up a choice of one IMHO are at the centre of the problem, which is inconsistency on many levels and subjects. My son's situtation was real, recent and illustrative.
Public interest does come into it, rather like "dog bites man" who cares "man bites dog" is newsworthy. JT is gathering more than his fair share of public interest, comment and opinion.
Regular 'Joe's' are less likey to attract so much attention and I prefer blind justice rather than pre-emptive justice by media, is all.
At risk of adding another issue, I'm interested in the comparison between Terry Venables's unsuitability and what will happen with Harry Redknapp, how consistent will the FA be I wonder?

Uke I really get the feekling there's a whole lot more "depth" to the JT story than we currently are getting...

The legal definition of 'in the public interest' is absolutely nothing to do with whether the public are interested.

EaststandmanHoop Blah You've confused me here Eaststandman.
You said that the FA were putting themselves above the law of the land by treating him as guilty before being proven so. My only comment in that is that this happens in most other industries so they're not doing anything more than other bodies do day in day out (in fact I'd say they're doing less). They aren't diluting as you suggest.
The public interest and attention doesn't really come into the argument as far as I'm concerned.
The Respect campaign is targetted at completely the wrong end of the game I agree, but again that's going off on quite a wild tangent.
VM, not sure what Beckham or Giggs have done to warrant the comparisons in this case. I know you'll hold a grudge against them for their United backgrounds (and I agree they shouldn't be included in the Olympic squad) but they're not on criminal charges and awaiting trial so I don't get why the need to drag them into things.

Dare to Dr£am In a rare show of support for JT I'm going to back him on that. If you can use synthetic grass and it does look authentic, and you don't have to garden it and it looks tip top all year round then good work.

He has to watch all 8 series of Different Strokes back-to-back before recording a charity version of Ebony and Ivory with Darcus Howe.
