Eaststandman Apologies for the delay in responding, spent 4 hours driving home to Dorset (it usually takes 2) from the 'ding last night, snow, sleet, hail, rain, fog, flood, etc, it was biblical.

I conflated the two issues simply because the common denominator, the FA, who could feck up a choice of one IMHO are at the centre of the problem, which is inconsistency on many levels and subjects. My son's situtation was real, recent and illustrative.

Public interest does come into it, rather like "dog bites man" who cares "man bites dog" is newsworthy. JT is gathering more than his fair share of public interest, comment and opinion.

Regular 'Joe's' are less likey to attract so much attention and I prefer blind justice rather than pre-emptive justice by media, is all.

At risk of adding another issue, I'm interested in the comparison between Terry Venables's unsuitability and what will happen with Harry Redknapp, how consistent will the FA be I wonder?

The legal definition of 'in the public interest' is absolutely nothing to do with whether the public are interested.

Uke I really get the feekling there's a whole lot more "depth" to the JT story than we currently are getting...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... tgage.html

I expect more revalations in the run up to June

I hope not - otherwise he calls 'not fair trial' and neithe he not the public win

Oh well, that's me put in my place then, by a superior legal mind and of course the popular, common currency of what passes for 'interest' public, legal or otherwise, won't have any bearing on the matter whatsoever, will it?

Silver Fox So, Jamie "son of 'arry" Redknapp thinks people should be treated as innocent until proven guilty, funny that

why is that funny?. shame your elected party of choice do not share the same view.

Hoop Blah You've confused me here Eaststandman.

You said that the FA were putting themselves above the law of the land by treating him as guilty before being proven so. My only comment in that is that this happens in most other industries so they're not doing anything more than other bodies do day in day out (in fact I'd say they're doing less). They aren't diluting as you suggest.

The public interest and attention doesn't really come into the argument as far as I'm concerned.

The Respect campaign is targetted at completely the wrong end of the game I agree, but again that's going off on quite a wild tangent.

VM, not sure what Beckham or Giggs have done to warrant the comparisons in this case. I know you'll hold a grudge against them for their United backgrounds (and I agree they shouldn't be included in the Olympic squad) but they're not on criminal charges and awaiting trial so I don't get why the need to drag them into things.

The public interest still doesn't come into the debate about whether or not other walks of life are treated in a very similar way to he know has been by England.

To be fair about the AstroTurf - my neighbour did this as his dog was killing the grass, it's not really AstroTurf more the synthetic grass and it looks absolutely tremendous all year round... You can't even tell its not grass until you touch it... This doesnt place any doubt On the fact that terry is a cock.

In a rare show of support for JT I'm going to back him on that. If you can use synthetic grass and it does look authentic, and you don't have to garden it and it looks tip top all year round then good work.

I think he might have me confused with someone else TBF, which is surprising as he seems totally obsessed with me at times

What is the potential punishment that Terry could get if found guilty?

He has to watch all 8 series of Different Strokes back-to-back before recording a charity version of Ebony and Ivory with Darcus Howe.

As the one that has to cut the fcuking stuff - I'd quite happily astro-turf my green bits so I'm with JT there.

Karl Howman needs the royalties. Didn't realise there were so many series tbh. A much missed classic.

Some nice stuff there. He is Mr Chelsea. It's a shame he had to ruin it all by having affairs and making rasict comments.

rasict?

As far as I know he allegedly made one racist comment. Not comments.

However, this is all definitely blown out of proportion. I suspect a vast majority who have criticised JT, have said "you black kant" when a black person has cut you up whilst driving etc. Does that make the said person racist? Not really.
