... my mate re-emerged from his self-imposed exile and we set out for (and reached, only just) Hellenic One West: Tytherington Rocks 5-0 Carterton
- made for me what's known as a 'Champagne Match' as it completed the Premier and First (East & West) divisions of the Hellenic. Though technically I haven't actually seen New College play at home on their Supermarine RFC pitch - but I'm 'half-ticking' them as I have been to Supermarine FC - which is where they play more often than not.
- very nearly had to divert to a different match altogether: as bits of Diddy Power Station were still intent on clogging up the M4 westbound - but I diverted off NW at Sw!nedon and nipped up to Birdlip and down to the M5. Tytherington is a tiny hamlet tucked up into the folds of the hills above Iron Acton nr Thornbury. Ground is adjacent to the M5 itself but not that near a junction. Back home via M4 - much quicker home by 18:15 - further delayed slightly by the Ol' Bill deciding to close the road (B3270) at jn 11 - leading below Shire hall to Shinfield Rd
